Also been listening to a lot of Shellac recently so would love to pick up a Rusty Box or even a Boxidizer to run my bass through. Got a DBA Robot during the week so i'll give it a shot and see how I get on with it, but I'm tempted to throw it up in the BST to trade for the pedals previously mentioned.

I think the Boxidizer is more useful than the Rusty Box and has plenty of lows. I've played Bass through one and was pleased with the results. And 9v power!

Really!? That's interesting to know! Does the boost sound similar too?

A bit confused as to how they managed to make the Boxidizer run on 9v yet haven't gone back and tweaked the Rusty Box to do the same.

The boost on the boxidizer is a gain boost and the boost on the Rusty Box is more of a volume boost. I don't think there's much tonal change in the Rusty boost.

I hate DBA, mostly because they solder worse than I do and you get to pay through the nose for the privilege.

But...

Dat Apocalypse! Played one in a studio a few years back and it just flat out kills. So much so that I would be prepared to give them my money. Might even give a few bucks more so they can take an online course in pcb design.

ha, they've come a long, long ways in that regard. pricing is up there as well, but I only snag used so not really an issue when a good deal comes along :)

for all the shit they get, they make some killer sounding stuff

on another note i'm still after a reverb that won't swallow my fuzzy tones but I have given up

I saw this Royal Blood/DFA1979 ripoff band last night and nowbi I really wanna get a "dual amp faux Bass" rig going. All I really need is the octaver. Do I hold out for a Micro Pog or is anything cheaper worth checking out?

And neon good looks on the Pitchfork! I totally forgot about that pedal!

I was using my Musket into my PitchFactor today and got pretty good results, but I need something separate from my main board.

I'm GASIng for a Dominion 2x12 loaded with something big and dark.

I've basically transitioned to guitar full time. Everything is changing! Well, its baritone, so not that much is changing.

Dude. Have you tried the dr sci RRR? It looooooves fuzz.
I like how a lot of DBA stuff sounds. I don't like the build quality nor their occasional absence of fairly obvious and fairly useful controls. This sometimes gets rectified when they v2 stuff.
Eivind made me want a fuzz gun too.

Royal Blood blew up fucking quick. I worked a session with them before their album came out, and then they were back just a couple months later to play Howard Stern. It helps that they have cool sounds, and they are great to work with.

But yeah, any band with a cool tone achieved with a strong beat and a minimal lineup will get people replicating them right quick. People are inspired by awesome things that require less people who need to agree on everything.
