After this's all over, I hope the U.S. gov't bills Trump for the damage he's done to our reputation

She wants to be the Secretary of a cabinet department that she wants to shut down. She just can't quit quitting, can she?

Bernie Sanders.........He is the last chance to lead America for the people.
If he doesn't win and have the highest opportunity to fight for us, like he has been doing for most of his life as a real public servant, then the American dream.....which is already buried....will be lost forever.
The thing that digests me is the linear public that wish to stand next to and support people with such a level of narcism.
Vote for me.....i'll put George Carlin books as required educational material in every high school.

The Presidency is like the tip of an iceberg. There is a lot of momentum that will push a president in the direction that momentum is going.
Bernie would good for a number of reasons:
1) He is elected and his election demonstrates that a majority of US citizens disagree with the political status quo - a dem and repub venture.
2) He tries to implement the kind of policies he is advocating - money out of politics, dealing with wall st. and economic inequalities and most important: The environment.
In implementing stricter environmental laws, all the already crazy corporations and politicians that denounce the reality of climate change will rally against him and his administration.

This brings to the public's eye, even more so than now, what we are up against/what this country is made of in terms of power.
3) His election is fruitless and he is co-opted/ his campaign was all rhetoric like Obama's "change and hope" and things stay the same. Obama has taking some stances on some things but his allegiances are still in the already-shifted-right political arena.

Uh, Sanders is a better choice than some but he's definitely a career politician.

True enough.

Still true enough.

If you want money out of politics, support a flat tax. It (literally) removes the incentive to purchase politicians.
Income inequality - slippery slope. It really should be "equality of opportunity" and not "equality of outcome", perhaps for starters companies SHOULD NOT GET A TAX BREAK FOR SHIPPING JOBS OVERSEAS, they should face a import tax. As much as my libertarian leanings are against this, I believe this establishes momentum in the other direction.
The environment - This needs to be done smartly and not with the heavy hand of government. There are power companies all over the country that are fighting the solar movement. They need to be punched in the balls and publicly humiliated. Smart efforts like the Elio commuter car (under $7k, around 80mpg) need to be promoted and incentivized. Hopefully this approach will be more beneficial to the environment AND to American workers that have not recovered from the Bush recession.

Re: Does it even really make a difference who the next POTUS
Without going into a whole spiel of Zeitgeist Movementism magnitude, there is a reason government won't support renewable energy technologies, and it is mostly economic.
Short term economic.
Corruption is rife, and the evidence lies in the fact that governments have sold their power infrastructure off to these or portions who increase their prices to consumers every quarter.
We should be living on solar and travelling the solar system with quantum plate engine spacecraft by now.
Meanwhile if we could people to start using birth control and stop having families of ten or more children we may survive the next century and see a dialog about what to do with this thing called the economy that nobody will understand because Fox bought all the public schools.
