That is awesome. Seems very possible these days with all the info readily available. May that day come soon!

Thanks! Pedals and cabinet down. Guitar and amp still to go. Lots of ideas for guitars from browsing around here now.

Hi, I'm Mike. I play weird punk and hardcore-ish music or whatever piques my fancy. I prefer short-scale Fender offsets.

I guess I should do a rundown of my current gear.

Guitars:
Aria AK-35-Half of the tuning keys have been replaced, strung lefty.
Left-Handed Squier Standard Stratocaster-Treble bleed mod. Lefty staggered SD SSL-1 in neck and middle, SD Hot Rails in bridge
Left-Handed Eastwood Hi-Flyer-Pickups replaced with Eastwood Phase 4 humbuckers, held in with electrical tape.
Left-handed Fender Kurt Cobain Signature Jaguar-Bass cut switch retrofitted back on guitar.
Left-handed Fender Kurt Cobain Signature Mustang-Bridge pickup switch rewired as Out-Off-In, like a regular Mustang.

Amp: Fender Blues Junior III

Effects:
Boss DM-2W Waza Craft Delay
EHX Wiggler
EHX Small Clone
EHX Stereo Polychorus-Big Box
MXR Phase 100
EHX The Worm-Big Box
EHX Soul Food
MXR Distortion+
Boss DS-1 Distortion
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion
Dunlop Silicon Fuzz Face Mini
Dunlop Germanium Fuzz Face Mini
MXR Blue Box
Pro Co Deucetone Rat
EHX Op Amp Big Muff Pi
JHS Muffaletta
EHX Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi
Danelectro French Toast
MXR Sub Machine
Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz
Frederic Electronics Super Unpleasant Companion Fuzz (Companion and Super Fuzz in one unit)

I also use generic foot switches on the amp and DS-2.

Hey Gear Pals,
My name is Nathan, I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The first effect I ever bought was a Boss Tremolo, and I’ve always loved trem (and other effects (though I typically can’t stand chorus, phase and flanger). I’ve only recently got back into playing and writing music, and have picked up a few cool pieces of gear this year. Currently for effects pedals I have a vox delaylab, Electro-Faustus drum thing mini and Dual oscillator deluxe, strymon flint, TC tailspin vibrato, Montreal assembly Your and You’re, EHX crayon, freeze and 720 looper, Caroline Meteore in order, Ezhi and Aka moomindrone + on order and Fairfield circuitry randy’s Revenge also on order (can’t wait for those three to arrive!!). I play a Fender Coronado II reissue through a Clara Amplification Reverb classic. I also have a Teenage Engineering PO-32 Tonic and a Korg Volca Keys that I’m learning to make beats/synth with, and am planning to buy a PO-20 Arcade, volca sample and/or Volca FM. I’m possibly a bit obsessed at this point, which I attribute to having a big break in my music playing/gear acquiring life! Happy to be a part of this gear community!!

You just made me realize that I've been playing for 17 years without learning a scale.

I mean, I read music theory books and I practiced scales... but I didn't learn shit.

Welcome.

I exclusively play the blues through a Rainbow Machine, does that count as scales?

Hey, first post here although I've been lurking for a while. This is pretty much the only guitar-related community I'm interested in now, so I figured I might as well start posting. Cheers.

Anyhow... welcome!

I started on bass. I learned how to play the major scale... and that's basically as far as I got with scales.
Everything else I just fumbled around with in the dark, trying to feel what goes with what. More fun that way.
