ILF favicon: solved

Hey, am I the only one getting a pink swastika as the favicon for this forum?



It's kinda unsettling to see it in my bookmarks...

probs a mix-up. i don't have an ILF favicon & somehow a Youtube favicon is on another site i visit.

shit happens. i think you can change it somewhere in yr browser or the properties for that particulary site.

the ones w/ the dots is how i differentiate the German ones from the Hindu ones. really i want to know how or why the German Nationalism ones got appropriated in the first place. i could never figure that out. time to do wikipedia & googling...

Yeah, I know. I lived in Asia for a long time, studied Zen-based martial arts, trained in temples under 50ft golden manji. I have one on my dogi and a card in my wallet with one on it...guaranteed funny looks if it falls out while rifling around looking for your CC in the grocery store.
And it's still disconcerting to have a pink swastika show up in my bookmarks.
It just showed up, so no doubt some weird extension update screwed something up

Long story...the omote (forward) manji is anticlockwise, the ura (reverse) manji is clockwise.



One take is that the omotoe manji symbolises love, compassion, while the ura manji symbolises strength and power. You need both to be complete. In Japanese Riki ai fu ni, strength and love are not separate...but guess which one little Mr. Schiklgruber thought was more important I've read that he was really into symbolism and the 45^ tilt has an element of chaos/war/ran to it...strength through war maybe? Either way, deluded western fuckhead pisses all over ancient Asian culture.

I've also seen them referred to as variants on the in/yo (yin/yang) symbolism; the intersection of dharma and man / heaven and earth / etc., which is why you also see those in two different directions.
