old television..when house home equipment was BIG and things had dials and antennae.. made hum sounds and made awesome colours when died.

do you have a show you watched in the glory days of antennas and vcrs?, shows that when you were younger taught you "something"?... then life goes by, and your all grown up now, still watching the same shit? because it gives you that space...what shows are they & why?

1. Married with children (sums up my personality and actual life)

2. Mystery Science Theater 3000 ( do not we all feel trapped sometimes, if not always?)

3. Star trek -TNG- Voyager- (beem me the fuck outa here thats why)

The weird programming that came on my late-night PBS. It was always weird and wonderful. After midnight the best stuff came on. There was an amazing show that was just a bunch if short films. A weirdo with both glasses and an eye patch would introduce the show, and then it was just short films.

I miss watching shows on cathode-ray tube sets....

Definitely Star Trek and TNG, Batman with Adam West.

Growing up we had Captain 20.

He'd introduce stuff like Ultraman

I got NBC and PBS clearly. CBS came in kinda fuzzy but watchable. ABC was almost always fuzzy but sometimes was kinda clear and that would be weird to see all the different shows. Lived in the boonies so cable wasn't available, one of my friends had that though and it was the best thing in the world to watch Beavis and Butthead on that guys TV. I guess I didn't really watch much TV because 3 channels has you doing other stuff as a kid.

I think all that weird PBS shit warped me. 321 Contact, The Tripods...The PBS stuff had such a weird vibe, it felt old and like it was beaming out of from some bizarre, sad universe. More normal PBS was Where In the World Is Carmen San Diego. I remember Seinfeld, Unsolved Mysteries on NBC. I could have sworn Star Trek Deep Space Nine was on NBC but wiki says it was a CBS program. Hmm...cartoons on Saturday mornings. Got minidish when I was about 12 I guess and then binging on TV became more regular marathoning garbage shows on USA network after school, then watching trash on USA Up All Night and TNT Monstervision late at night.

I remember watching the trippy scrambled porn channel hoping to catch a second or two of clear boob. Porn is too easy for kids nowadays. It used to be hard work to see a boob.

I feel like my imagination flourished before porn was easily accessible.
I jerked off to the Seal of Virginia once, when I was young and truly desperate. Tell me that isnt an achievement. But now? Just a titty flag.

...also, it's cool if you spray water on a crt screen. All the colors.

Bananarama's "Venus" video was my fucking jam, dude. That and Madonna's "Material Girl."

My very first TV was a 9" black and white thing. Channels 2 through 13, and nothign every came across the UHF bands. I used to watch the shit out of it. WPIX 11 used to run awesome monster movies every Monday, and WMOR on channel 9 had great re-runs. My local station had the classics, too, all the old Andy Griffiths and Leave it to Beavers and shit...

No one ever believed me, but I remember when Challenger blew up. They interrupted an episode of Leave it to Jeanie for that. By that point, shuttle launches weren't a big deal (we rolled a TV into my classroom when the Enterprise was first launched and we all saw it), and the people were just frantic because nothing like that had happened before. Its crazy, no one ever wants to believe that I watched that shit go down live, but sure enough.

I don't watch TV anymore. I can't keep a schedule, and when I turn it on I've got 300 channels of utter bullshit scripted crap. About the onyl thing that I kinda like int hat entire classification of utter shit is American Pickers because I find it interesting to learn about all the weird crap and see the sort of people who horde but somehow get a legit pass.

But, the only TV I atch with regularity is kids' programming. Gumball is pretty baller. I dislike comics but Teen Titans Go makes me giggle and I'm pretty sure I'd want to bang Raven if she was real. Prior to that the last thing that stuck out was Yo Gabba Gabba and my kids are too old for that anymore.

I think I had a point when I started this?

The Box...Waiting for somebody to order Primus but gladly watching "Da Dip" for the fifth time that day.

There was this show that came on Buck Owens' TV channel KUZZ at like midnight that showed fetishists (dolls lovers, meat-hook-hangers, etc). (Living Edge?)

My favorite was Connections:

Watched Star trek TNG, babylon 5, mst3k, and kids in the hall a ton.

G.I. Joe, transformers, TMNT...Way too many to list. Watched TV constantly. A lot of documentaries too.

Most missed:

I miss Huell a ton. Dude was awesome (plus Dwight signing "streets of Bakersfield")
-Ring Mods!
"I make you chocolate"
-comesect69-via-Majin Buu-by-way-of-Dirge/mtl.asm and special consideration from CA Anderton

I was watching my sister's place in NYC summer of 93 or 94 and they had "The Box" and I'd leave it on. There was this amazing fucking french rapper who's song got played constantly. That's all I've got. Was amazing though.
