It has been snowing for several days and I have been struggling to keep my head straight. I'm on edge. My car doesn't run and I am almost out of time to fix it. My best friend is transferring to another job. My ex-wife is not communicating with me and I haven't heard from my son since before Halloween. I'm buried in snow and trying to stay positive. Traffic slowed in front of my house this morning. I looked out the front window and I saw a huge box and a small box being delivered. I haven't been ordering anything lately, so it was a mystery.

The labels both said that they were from Canada.

No way.

I opened the smaller package first, my hands so shaky that I cut my knuckle on my multitool. Undeterred, I saw the contents were a Dr. Scientist Bitquest. This was "that" package. The contest I couldn't let myself believe that I could win. This was the Twangasaurus box. I managed to get tears and blood on the Bitquest manual. It didn't feel real. It still doesn't. How could it be?

The bigger box was a bit daunting. I removed each of the individual items, carefully wrapped, and placed them on the table. When I entered, I wondered what winning would feel like. Normally, winning a prize feels like a little bit of Christmas, but there was more to this one. The circumstances were different. This was a package intended for Twangasaurus and I had to keep that in mind as I opened each gift. First were two shirts. One has Kirby on it, his pink smiling face one of my favorite things. The second says "I <3 Beer" and I have to say it is accurate. The next parcel contained some nice Skullcandy ear buds. A capsule of yellow plastic contains two red patch cables. The bottle of Angry Irishman chipotle sauce was next. A small but thick book with pictures of 500 guitars followed. The biggest wrapped item is a huge Chord Box Book. I need all the help I can get with theory. My favorite item is a hard drive full of music. 851 GBs of music. I can't wait to explore it. Last, but not least, is an EHX Stereo Electric Mistress. I only had a moment to play, but I had to cop some Cure licks.

I am still overwhelmed. I took lots of pictures that I am placing on Instagram. This means so much to me. There is a light that will never go out.

This is so awesome. Still coming to terms with Twang's and a few other deaths. I'm so happy that there was some real closure here. No one left it open ended like the loss of a life often does. Shit I can barely type this...
