i dont remember ever reading the book though, after watching the film i got a copy and it's on my read list

also on my 'to read for the first time after watching the film' list are:

And it's pretty good as well. Always seemed like a mystery to me why it isn't more well known. It apparently even won the Jury Prize at Cannes in '72.
