Slightly chilled homebrew stout with vanilla icecream and dark chocolate powder meant for coffee = win.

I had a pretty beer geeky day yesterday. I went to the "good" liquor store in town specifically looking for 21st Amendment Black IPA and I found it, and the guy had to check to be sure it was in the computer because it had just come off the truck about an hour ago.

I drank it out of a glass, but if I hadn't I probably wouldn't have noticed it being that much darker. It was still good though.

I was in NYC last night to catch American Idiot on Broadway, and on the way out I noticed a killer little high-end beer/cheese/cured meats shop. They have all singles and encourage people to make their own six-packs (with a 10% discount if you get 6).

So I got to try two beers I've been wanting to taste for ages:

Gouden Carolis (tripel)
De Koningshoeven / La Trappe Dubel

Both are oustanding! The Carolis is a very classic tripel that is a little dry and definitely has a noble hop presence (so many tripels and golden strongs overpower the hops with too much malt). The Dubel was excellent as well, and it smelled just as chewy and carmelized as it tasted. An excellent example of the style.

Duders (and chicks if there is whom and for a chick is present for):

I just had two bottles of Founders Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale. I live in Ann Arbor, MI (I'm from the west side, Grand Rapids, and went to Michigan State U, but I live here now), and we've got all sorts of great Michigan beers:

Founders
Bells
Shorts
Arcadia (so so)
etc.

All tasty. Tonight I had some Dirty Bastard and did this:

http://www.playnesflashgames.com/

WHOA SHIT. I was playing Super Mario Crossover (Google 'dat), and I was like "Hey, why not Google 'Nintendo flash games'?", which I did, and I just spent the last two hours playing the original Metal Gear.

Then I played Arkanoid, which is IMPOSSIBLE if you're slightly drunkage. Just try it. Seriously. Click the link and I think it's under "action games". It's fun, but I can't get passed the first faggin' level. :picard:

Peace,

Being mexican, I drink a lot of Corona, Sol, Indio and Tecate. There is "Bohemia" in different versions, all of them excellent, from the same brewery of Sol.

What is weird about Corona is that the one for exportation is lighter than the one they sell domestically, it´s more like the "Modelo" sold here.

We all find Fuzz quite agreeable, we sure like coffee, but don't we love beer?
I sure do. Here are some of my favourites:

It is all about Samuel Smiths for me, I can not get enough of it. I also like IPAs a ton too, like Stone IPA or Stoudt's Double IPA.
Blackout Effectors Twosome
EQD Sound Shank, White Light, Tone Reaper
Devi Bit
Skreddy Lunar Module, Echo, Paradigm Shift
Dr. Scientist Chosmichorus, The Elements
Catalinbread Semaphore

WORD!

Back when I started this thread, I didn't (couldn't figure out) know how to post images... that would have been more fun.

I had a six pack of this over the last few days. WHOA CONTROVERSIAL ART BOO HOO (says a lot of dorks around here)... also it's BEER JUST DRINK IT (says I).

They did change the color of the guy's hand to super-white instead of "tan" for the mass run. I can understand that.

It's a good "India Pale Ale that drinks like a Pale Ale", which is a quote from their website. HUH? DERP? Anyway, it's pretty alright, but I'll always go back to this:

The best IPA.

question for you beer geniuses

are IPAs supposed to be really hoppy?
I had my first one a few nights back, a Ranger by Flat Tire, it was SUPER hoppy. Tasty for what it was, but I don't think it was for me

I'm a big fan of Mexican beers m'self :)
