DRAUME

Postby Pladask » Thu Jan 23, 2020 6:33 am

DRAUME is a pedal exploring intentionally artificial reverberation through the use of post-reverb processing, system clock and decay manipulation. Estimated for release late February 2020. Video will be available prior to release. More information can be found in the links below:

Looks fantastic, Knut!

Based on your frequent updates on the forum and my past month with the Fabrikat, I'll be buying one of these bad boys.

The manual leads to believe that this will be a very cool pedal. I'm excited to hear some sounds!

I've been running my Taken with low time and mod up as a kind of warbly reverb with a random tremolo in the chain. Maybe this will free that stuff up for other things...

I've already said this in another thread but I'm gonna copy/past it here too. Things that interest me a lot a bout the Draume:

AM/random tremolo is a thing I would love to have since I already have set my current reverb to give that kind of feeling, also It's a real smart and useful feature to have a reverb that has trails but when bypassed the tails could decay faster than the real setting, so GATE bypass mode should be great.
Does the Gate decay time depend entirely by the clock setting or there are also other parameters that determinate it?

Looking forward to hear some demos!

The decay time depends on the clock frequency because at a lower clock frequency you have more delay memory available (in trade for a lower sampling rate). Even with decay then at 0 it will take more time for the audio to be cleared from the memory. Note that the Gate mode is a true bypass mode (as stated in the manual). You won't hear the reverb fade out, rather you will be presented with a clean slate when you reengage the pedal. The idea was that this mode could be used to make relatively abrupt changes in reverb content. In comparison the TRUE mode will let the audio in the reverb keep running while you are in bypass. Hope that clears it up :)*
Very excited to see how this will be received!

Uuh now I get it, I got everything wrong the first time I read it (cool feature anyway!)

This line in the manual about the Hall reverb just sunk in for me:

Maximum decay is approximately 10 minutes with CLK at noon.

Ten minutes!!!

This thing will be a beast.

looking right sexy - really appreciate this approach and the choices for mod....

Here's the ReForm's Texture reverb, which I believe Knut said is a similar algorithm to the Draume:

Sounds like initially you hear random modulation, then the texture cranked, then just that sweet, sweet reverb.
