Black Dog - cool! We must know each other... I lived with Carl Blackwood for a hot second last winter in Albany. I think he still works at Black Dog? Anyway we also have some mutual friends/likes on Facebook.

But here's my setup right now. Just moved it all out of a little cottage that I was recording in because of the heat. Room studios are the comfiest for me.

Neat! Yeah, I know Carl. He sold me the V4 that's in those pics, and I got him a job doing sound at valentines a while back. Can't say I remember meeting you, but don't take it personally. haha.

Neat setup. Is that some Tube Tech gear I see?

Here's a pic of my mess.

I need more mics, a better interface and more know-how, but I have fun recording with this lot.

Here's a silly photo of me recording at Civil Recording (https://www.facebook.com/civilrecording) in Denton, my favorite place I've ever recorded at ever. Michael, the guy that does all the work and such, is super goddamned nice, and also cranks out some fantastic work. Usually, we track everything live, and put the amps in other rooms of the house (this is also definitely just where Michael lives), which isolates everything pretty well.

And, it's weird who all has recorded something there. For instance, here's Kylesa in the same room, recording something for Violitionist sessions (something else Michael does).

Image

And here's a dorky photo of my band Elesh Norn (also pictured above) recording vocals.

Cool pics. Elesh Norn like the Magic the Gathering card right? :joy:

Running Ubuntu with Ardour via a Focusrite 18i8 for home recording and hopefully band practice when I feel totally confident using Ardour - switching to Linux is easier than purists would have you believe, but not as simple as you'd hope.... but even inpitting code is better than Windows 8 :idk:        :wha?: :wha?: :wha?: :excellent:

I'm glad to hear it can be done on Ubuntu. I'm debating between an Android or an Ubuntu setup...

Had the oppurtunity to pull these out for a smaller project i'm working on. Nice to hear how great the system 20 sounds, and what a great puzzle it can be manually making all the patches.
