I'm pretty sure you can somewhere. If not, you could get some normal ones and just leave them empty/do something cool with them like a tone bypass or something.

EDIT: a quick google search reveals that there are no commercially available blank plates, but that doesn't mean you can't get a bro to make you some.

The idea is tempting... this is still a while off... but.. it's gonna be a tele neck on a jazz body.. and I was thinking I don't have a fender all single coil type guitar.. I don't know.. the big ugly guard might win out depending on the color.. which might be trans grey, orange or white.. I can't decide if I want to go sci-fi or construction machine LOL..

I'd play the hell out of that. Might look cool with chrome covered Tele pickups in both positions too.

Hmm... That could be done.. but I have never really liked tele neck pickups my self... :idk: on the other hand I am not sure if I will keep it or not in the end.. I am thinking though about doing a 7 string on it though [octave Gs] because I have a tele neck that already has the extra tuner..

Fair enough. Big ass G&L MFD's might be cool too. 7-string Tele neck sounds potentially pretty awesome as well!

But then I guess it wouldn't really be a Fender-type single coil guitar at that point. I'll stop poking my nose in your business now. :hello:

Hey original idea was firebird pickups... and no not a seven string neck though.. it a normal neck you just double up the G like on a twelve. It's a really cool sound, a guy I play with does this on acoustics.

Oh damn. That's a cool idea. What do you do for the nut and tailpiece? Roll your own or just use 12-string stuff and leave the other slots empty?

Well last time I did this was actually on my tele [the one I turned into a bassVI / Baritone] and I had the low E doubled, I just added a slot in the nut and the bridge had top or through body holes so I just had to put a extra groove in the saddle.

This time around I am using a mustang bridge so I can easily re-slot and a tailpiece the is fingered so it isn't a issue at all.
