I got one of those EGC T60 necks awhile back, but I wasn't really bonding with the T60 body too much. I've always liked the look of old Bigsby style guitars, especially TK Smith's take on them, so I decided to commission a new body to pair with my alu neck from a forum member on tdpri. He has been awesome so far, and is sending a bunch of progress photos along the way. I thought I would share here. I'll try to update as the project moves forward. Enjoy!

Just got the body in recently and did a rough mock up. I'm thinking about a vintage amber stain. Any thoughts?

Not even sure it needs any stain.
It looks good just like that!

Amber or black tint would be my move. Looks awesome! How does it balance?

I agree with tinting it a bit to help tie the black guard together with the wood, but still keeping that purdy grain visible. Hot!

I didn't check until you reminded me, but the balance was actually pretty shit (semi-hollow). Then I remembered I had a local machine shop make a backbone-esque plate out of steel for the original T60 that luckily fits pretty well for this build. It seems pretty neutral now, though it is probably abut a pound and a half heavier.
