so aboot pickups: P-rails seem like the best bet for this as you can get a p90 and a "fender" sound single sound and a "normal" bucker. I am putting the bridge about 2" from the bridge which is the MM bass placement but am turning the pickup "backwards" so the blade is pointed at the bridge so I can get max twang out of it and a more RIC-like sound out of the p90 side. There will be three 3way switches: Normal big toggle for pickup selection and two minis for coil stuff and be in the jag switch spot and be like this oOo kind'a.

pickguard: I am thinking about a thunderbird like one under vs a big guard and maybe out of metal...

Let me know how you like those P Rails, I read that some people love them and others that say the p90 mode sounds like ass. I'd be interested in trying them if that isn't the case, looking forward to seeing this finished!

you have no idea how close I already came to that... I got this big brass disk off ebay for $10 it's like a etched sun.. to see if I could do just that... but it was a little too thin and a little too nice... It's on my wall now behind my amps
