About to score a Squier CV tele custom...

Postby frigid midget » Mon May 21, 2018 3:03 pm

I'm not expecting anything stellar, but it seems like an okay deal for a decent looking tele with a double bounded alder body and vintage-y specs...

Still though, as good as the Classic Vibe series may be, it does look like it's been seriously overhyped. A couple years ago, one could buy a used mim classic '60s tele for the amount I'm about to spend on this chinese tele :idk:

I'm gonna give it a try, it's not the worst deal considering the mint condish, the tweed hardcase, and the upgraded pots. But does anyone happen to know of a better aternative for a cheapish 60s style tele that doesn't suck?

Cheers.

Um in my experience the squier CV series is the best bang for your buck on the market.
I had that 60's custom and I loved it. Pickups were pretty quiet, but thats a real easy fix.

Thanks. Best bang for the buck, even with the extra 120ish bucks for the pup uprade? Why'd you get rid of yours btw?

I own my own business so I go broke all the time. Sacrifices are often made.

I see. I don't own my own business, and I constantly have to make sacrifices. The self employed version of myself would've gone bakrupt ages ago

I have a CV 69 Thinline I love. I did put a roasted neck on it for extra fist meat, but I'm happy with everything else about it including the pickups.

I had the butterscotch 50s CV Tele, it was an amazing guitar for $350. Great guitar at any price.

I have a CV Duo Sonic that I stripped down to one pickup, vol and tone. Thing is super light and sounds amazing. If the tele is anything like that quality wise, your in for a treat.
