Ohhhh it sounds so good.
Recentish refin by MJT, recent refret, a couple of replacement tuners, and new pickup leads (old pickups, though.)
Sounds SO GOOD. I have a couple of other nice JMs around, but this one has jumped to the top of the heap, sound-wise.
Not perfect - could use a Mastery - I’m having to move the high E to the bass-most saddle to keep the string on the neck.
Still plays super well despite that. :!!!:

And now a closeup of DAT TORT.

non-matching headstock, looks like MIM tort, clay dots look fake, decal seems off, rusty screws, bridge also rusty, knob numbers out of alignment with position, cheap amazon.com strap

3/10 would not play

To sort the top E string problem, you need to move the neck slightly - you might need to slacken the screws but more often then not you don't need to.

Sit with the guitar on your lap, hold the body and pull the neck toward you so that it moves in the pocket enough that the strings line up as you want - it won't need much.

Then tighten the screws if you loosened them.
