I like that Jaguar Strat, but not at that price.

 Love that Meteora

At least y'all get new stuff. After the Dimension Prophecy line was a massive flop all Fender does with their bass lines is re-re-re-re-re-release the same models over and over but with different names and upcharging for shitty, "vintage" hardware.

I've been in "Camp Fuck Fender" after their price hiking and awesome brand killings (SWR, Genz-Benz, Tacoma, etc), so this abomination of a line doesn't surprise me.

As a 50% bassist who only plays fenders (out of coincidence not principle), I agree. Where are the interesting things?

I am also probably part of the problem because I'm pretty happy with the classics though...

There's a school of thought that says there doesn't need to be any basses other than a precision. There's also a tonne of bass brands doing weird and wacky stuff that regular 6 stringers would never be on board with.

Same, I didn't like how short the neck was with my old jaguar (but if I paid someone to set it up right I might have) but 25.5" scale neck on this one is a big plus.

None of these guitars are invoking any response from me; Fender is slapping pieces together and calling it a new idea.

Yesssssss....
"Hey we should totally buy SWR"
"Yeah! We are going to keep their badass acoustic and bass stuff, right?"
"Nah, shelve it all. Viva Acoustasonic!"

I kind of like the whiteguard strat, but... meh. That's getting into Nash/other builders in that area territory.

As much as I love looking at cool basses, nothing has ever worked as well in a mix as a Precision for me. I always want to like cool things but the P-Bass just fucking works. I think that’s why people are still so stuck on them. Myself included.

My problem with most "nicer" boutique basses is they look disgusting and have active pickups. My fenders look nice and have passives and sound like I want.

And more importantly I love playing them.

If someone is doing simple passive basses that look cool in a classic way, play and sound good for a good price iI'm always interested

Still wish fender would push the boat out though

Usually I know it's out of my price range on the location of the truss rod adjustment... Now I'm confused.

So I actually really like all of these. Including both the Strats. I usually hate Strats, but I've recently realised I like weird Strats and these both fit the bill!

The Meteora is also really cool, I'd love to try one of them!

I didn't realise the Dimensions were a flop; I played one not too long ago in a shop and really, really liked it. If I had the cash I would buy one

My bad, not the Dimensions - the Prophecy line.

They'll do this shit but they won't put out a lefty version of every Squier Vintage Modified guitar.
