Hey Chank, what are the odds that the heating blanket neck straightenin' trick will work on a 100 year old neck? :idk:
On an other board, in another time:
"I also have a Fat Goat HB/P90 on my bastardized f-hollowed V, which is made of God-knows what kind of wood and of how many pieces. That guitar sounded OK when I installed one Shlabotnik pup on it; it actually became alive, very soaring; but I ended up preferring the Fat Goat, which gives me a darker, more "barking" tone as well as more "CHANK" and (maybe) better dynamics when played clean."

:erm: :wha?:  I think it totally depends on the particular neck in question. :idk: So, maybe? (Probably not though. :( )

Excuse me, Chank - do you think this is OG, or does it maybe belong in the hack job thread?

 I saw when that was listed earlier. :snax:

Not sure I've ever seen one exactly like that. :wha?: Knob placement isn't very ideal, but often wasn't on those early lap steels. :D I'd say it's probably original. :idk: Difficult to say for sure without having it in hand. (All similarities to Musicman pickguards are likely unrelated. )

I'd totally  that.

 think you're right - those back contours were a bit too too lovingly sanded for a hack job :p

and yes, who needs all that excess "body" on a lappie?

Is that some kind of Cheerwine-flavored coffee beverage (either that or a song from an Ike Turner XMAS album)? :idk:  :snax:

Do you prefer klons as a pretty hairy fuzz or a mild overdrive?

I never realised how much gain they had.
