Fender is bringing out something pretty sweet...

Postby orllybrahhehbrah » Mon Jul 28, 2014 7:29 am

"Fender Custom Shop Master Builders Yuriy Shishkov & Todd Krause have designed two entirely new models for the Classic Player series.

The Classic Player Stratocaster HH (Yuriy Shishkov)
Dual Wide Range Special humbucking pickups, five-way switching with coil splitting for more traditional single-coil Stratocaster sounds, and a sultry Dark Mercedes Blue gloss finish with a matching headstock.

The Classic Player Triple Telecaster (Todd Krause)
Three slanted Nocaster single-coil bridge pickups for truly distinctive modern tone and the classic look of a black finish and pickguard paired with a one-piece maple neck/fingerboard.

Available now from your local Fender UK & ROI authorised dealer"

Fender brings out some real cruddy stuff sometimes...but these seem pretty cool. And they're MIM so hopefully cheap-ish.

Interesting...but so close and yet so far. From my preferences, anyway.
The Tele pickups are canted in the "wrong" direction IMO. I want them angled like the Super-Sonic's pickups.
I'd like to combine the bridge HB (w/coil splitting) of the Strat with the (inverted) middle and/or canted neck SC pickups...in a Mustang's body.

Hate Tele body ergonomics and probably always will :grumpy:

That Mercedes blue/rosewood combination is  especially with the matching headstock!

I think that tele looks cool as hell.

I want one but I think I'd like to see it in a different color other than black. Would love walnut or something.

Yeah, I love the tele in terms of electronics and neck choice BUT it looks....off in black, to the point where I'm very much put off by it.

The choices in terms of neck and colour on the strat however are amazing in my book. Matching 70s headstock, binding, subtle blue oh my! But the electronics and pickguard again look weird to my eye haha

I hate that strats became synonymous with blues lawyers. They really are damn near perfect. I bet a lot of dudes who would fucking love playing that will never even try it.

UK and ROI only?????

I might have to try them then. Not hugely into the looks of either but I imagine they could be cool guitars.
