The aluminum guards are great for hum rejection, magical almost. If you can make the aesthetics work, they're a handy thing.

My happiness never wore off and it's still a weird surprising and unexpected joy every time I play the damn thing.

I'm keeping mine totally stock... can't see why I'd change anything about it. The gold pickguard was/is part of the allure of the guitar in the first place... plus it matches my white-ish P-Bass. I have a gold pickguard on that ass too.

And WOW does it stay in tune well. Again... better than my Gibson.

Got my Mascis in the mail today. Really impressed with it, great build quality

After a few weeks, still happy here. Neck adjusted to altitude/humidity just fine, it stays in tune acceptably well (not as well as my Jaguar, which laughs at me every time I hit the tuner button on the guitar synth to double check), and I may be able to live with the pickguard.

If only I put stupid stickers on it like I was 12.

Ughhh you guys are making me GAS for one bad, just can't decide if I would rather hold onto the $400 to put towards my JM Jag.

Hate to say it, on decent budget instruments (and this is just a flat out decent instrument), you jump before they go away or the specs change or something's wrecked.

Good guitar in the hand > a pile of surf green Jags (as much as I want one too)

yup. if you wanted one of the purple sparkly Fender JMJMs, you're shit out of luck now unless you look on eBay. gather ye Rosebuds while ye may, if you get my drift.

There's apparently some rumor flying around that these are discontinued already. Hmm.

i think if the guitar wasn't white, the gold would look awesome. for example...

Matching headstock would have made the color choice AOK.

The guitar is perfect.

White = Best color choice

Shit. I really want one fo those. Even more than the "new series" this summer. BEcause it has a usable bridge. NOt the best bridge, but a useable one.

i'm telling you, they rule straight off the shelf. i've played a dead stock one that was BETTER than one i A/Bed with Novaks in. if i wanted a Jazzmaster i'd be all over it like it was Rachel from Slowdive.

Yeah, there's nothing to change functionally on this model at all unless you *had* to have the trem lock, and that's a $30 part.

It's sort of the Model T of guitars: any color you want as long as it's white and gold, but nothing wrong with it at all.

Thanks to rfurtkamp's review and my own Gas i bought One that came in today.
I'm pretty blown away: everything is perfect, setup, sound, intonation, strings, finish and playability. I only tuned it and then rocked out two hours with my buddy. It has a Bit more of a Tele snap than my Two cij mascis but that's all i hear. I asume it comes from the Tremolo that is a Bit closer to the bridge.
Super happy that i pulled the trigger finally on that one.
