Very cool guitar
Like the color on that

Is having the knob up near the PicGuard weird or awesome?

Thanks! it's been the only guitar I've been playing the last two weeks because I'm still geeked about it and still trying out settings and pedals. I've wanted a Gretsch for ages but was put off by some of their hollowbodies (lshort dude, big guitar) and the necks of past Electromatics seemed too big for my liking. This is a 12" radius U-shape that fits my smallish hands pretty well. It's bigger than my Jag and Strat and feels a bit like my CV Tele Thinline-- substantial, but not chunky.

The knob near the pickguard is the master volume so I don't mess with it that much right now. It's kind of a weird layout with the master volume, then a separate volume control for each pickup and a tone knob behind them. I'm still experimenting with different pedals right now because the Blacktop Filtertrons are hotter than normal Filtertrons and are darker than my other guitars (all single coil). So, sometimes a dirt pedal will sounds super dark unless I crank the tone knob on the pedal. From what I have, my Rat, BD-2, Mini, DF-2, and 250 get along best with it. The OD-3 sounds pretty dark and a little more muffled than I'd like (love it with my Tele and Jag, though). It's super lightweight, too. I think it's around 7.3 lbs or so.
