If we're on the topic of ones that got away, this is the only pic I have of my old rig that got stolen.

I used to have a couple of old MIJ Tokais too: a Hard Puncher P-bass type with a cherry sunburst flame maple cap. It was my first real instrument and was great bought it new in 1985 or so.
Used to have a fretless Jazz sound too, the Jaco bass, and a Squier JV P-Bass.

it's a sticker. i haven't gotten around to peeling them off yet. it's funny how ric players leave the stickers on the guards, especially the flags. don't know why.

How does that thing sound? i want one of those, or the Blacktop Precision. I assume they have the same pickups.

HUGE it sound big and thick but knob twiddling brings an awesome amount of versatility

Next time you have it opened up or whatnot, could you be really really nice and measure the DCR of each pickup? This will greatly help my eventual decision to buy one.

forgive my stupid but DCR? :?:

bass specific string thingy thread is a good idea. the guitars 'un is neat, but i don't really understand most of what's going on there. hell, i don't know shit about BASSES and that's the only thing i can play a little.

this is the only bass i have that i like right now, trying to sell 3 of the other 4 (a MusicMan Sub5, Conklin 7, Dean EdgeQ 6) and just hold on to one sixer as a back up.

You should post those anyways, might help them get sold. Jwarwarrawr is looking for a decent 5er.

Direct Current Resistance. It's basically the kOhmage of the pickups. Rough way of measuring output.

gah. i just hate shipping basses. it's like at LEAST $100 unless you take the neck off. annoying. going to get around to listing them in CL and i guess here and TB for local pickup unless someone WANTS to pay the ridiculous shipping.

That's gotta be crazy weird switching between that one with the slanted frets and one with straight ones. Cool ass bass. I love my fiver but I'm not sure I could handle a sixer. My hands be so tiny.

hey, how's that Multivox bass pedal? There's only one vid on youtube and it kinda sounds like plink bup plink bup plink ... and not in a good way.
Can you interface it with another synth (like the Moog mini Taurus for example)
