How do you launch a pedal?

Postby D-Rainger » Sun Feb 05, 2017 4:00 pm

All Rainger FX pedal launches seem to be 'soft' launches.....
Am I missing out on doing stuff? I'm trying to get reviews, doing whatever posts about it I can....
Does every company have similar impact?... which is, not all that much. :idk:
(Maybe it's down to budget!)

Any ideas appreciated! :thumb:

People sure like demos by that knobs guy. You could get in touch? I think your stuff would fit right in there as it's idiosyncratic and fun.

I feel like Rainger launches should be wilder, somehow.
Do you have capability to do videos? Instagram previews prior to video debuts to build suspense. What ever happened to Frankenstomp?
The brand has a lot of personality and you should try to work with that.

Cool videos I think are good! Definitely agree with oam if you could make your own videos (this is probably a lot of work!) I'm sure they'd be good. Then I guess you have to spam that stuff around the internet for a while.

+1 on demos.
I think a lot of hype behind pedals, lately, comes from synchronized demos by PGS/Reverb/Knobs/CME coupled with a lot of IG/Youtube previews (like Walrus Audio, for example).

Production quality had really gone nuts in like the last year or two. Get a pedal or two into the hands of some folks with good production and a sizeable following, and some stockists who are prepared to do a nice vid.

Make sure your press shots have impeccable lighting, and maybe a shot or two with some context. I didn't realise how awesome the atc looks until I put it on my board.
Also somehow make the thorough top notch quality of your work tangible. The paint and print on my rainger stuff is super nice.

Wilder - yes!
I guess I should do videos. It's kind of a pain, but who cares - just do it! I like showing them off, just playing through them!
What was Frankenstomp??

Have demos by big names... Just Nick, Kingman, ...
More presence on social media.

Really really strange.....

BTW When you said Frankenstomp, for one weird moment I thought it was a festival - you know, like Ozfest etc....

So I organise the Freakenfest music festival!!!!!!!
Where all the bands use the Freakenstein pedals!
If we all lived in a tiny village in the country, that'd be great!
(Is there a better name for it?)

Wait, don't we all live in a tiny village these days - called Earth?

Maybe I should do this - even on a tiny scale... It'd get some press! It's got legs this idea!

is that hype?
