And just in time for Christmas! Works perfect, and it's as quiet as a dead church mouse. Very pleased.

Thank fuck this is over.

Damn nice. DC powered? What sort of current is it pulling?

yeeeessssssss!

how much in parts does this build end up running roughly?
is it a complete pain to get everything needed relatively easily and do it?

AC powered. 12vac/800mA wall wart. $3 a pop at my local supplier. The power section is straight out of the Hoffman project site, except I used a different power transformer to drop the B+ to about 185vdc. Heater power is rectified to 12vdc, and that is dropped to 5vdc for the audio section.

Current-wise, I haven't had a chance to add up how much it's pulling, but the Hoffman project uses a 1000mA for two tubes at 280vdc, along with the heaters. I had it powered up for 3 hours straight last night, and the wall wart was just barely warm, and the only heat coming from the pedal was from the tube. Just a rough tally;
- 150mA for the heater.
- 1mA for the plate.
- 70mA for the delay chip.
- 65mA for the DRAM.
- 5mA for the LM311.
- About 20mA for the LED's.
- I'll give the regulators 200mA to play with.

So "about" 500mA, plus minus a few. would justify why the 800mA wall wart is getting slightly warm. And I mean, only slightly. I think it's got enough of a cushion.

As for the build parts and cost...

Parts - The transfos are a bit of a beyotch to get a hold of. The delay and DRAM less so. I had to go off shore for all those. Everything else (circuit-wise), Tayda is your friend. Enclosure, and the rest, whoever you normally source from.
Cost - That can vary wildly, and is wholly dependent on who you deal with. As for the project itself, we've decided to do something we don't normally do... stock some transfos, delay and DRAM chips at the shop, and offer them as a package deal. This will save the luck few that do tackle this, the hassle of having to hunt down the main characters. Ball park? With all the shipping fees? I'm guestimating about $200. No... not a cheap project, but...

One thing for sure... it's still a fuck of a lot cheaper than buying an Echodrive! (Says the man that bought an Echodrive!)

Tried to grab a kit for myself and ibarakishi, but am SOL.

Any chance you can lay the details of this harder to source shit on us?
