In January I'm planning to build a big fuzz pedal using this case...
Already pilfered most of the tropical fish, mustard caps and CTS pots from inside.
I'm thinking 4 fuzz circuits each with a footswitch and 3 pots. And out the back, a patch bay with ins and outs for each so the order can be chosen.
I'm also thinking a switch for a Green Ringer on the input (basically an octave switch) and maybe an Orange Squeezer too.
Now I have to decide what to put in there. I've got the parts to build anything - germanium transistors, silicon, diodes etc. I haven't got any chips but I'm not against using them. And I'm not against drilling more holes (especially for switches, i love the simplicity of the digital choice). This is a project that needs to get a bit out of hand I think.....
So I'm looking for ideas...
Could be a boost, a germanium fuzz, a silicon fuzz and an overdrive?
Something with switchable oscillation would be good, never had one of those.
A switchable push-to-make momentary footswitch that engages the whole thing?
A global starve pot?
I don't think I like Muffs (I just hear 90s grunge bands) but I'm not discounting a Muff in there completely.
Internal power supply
Some of my favourite fuzzes are the FY2, Kay Fuzztone, Univox Superfuzz, Ge Fuzzrite....stuff that makes playing the guitar feel like riding a mad goat; pedals that piss in the pool and leave lumps in the custard.
