well, i sand off the paint on the top of the box after i paint it, so the press and peel has somewhere to stick. this guy has a super clean looking finished product, and goes for a waaayyy different aesthetic feel than i do, but gets great results

http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main. ... y/album24/

this is basically what i do, minus a lot of the steps (like cutting out and hand painting the mask, etc., screw all that)

but then again, i don't want a pedal i have built to sit in some dentist's home office to be gazed on in self-fellating collectableness. i want my stuff used, so i beat the shit out of them so that guys don't feel bad stomping on them. kindergarten paint jobs and all that can stay with the elitists :mope:

Oh! Okay, that helps out alot more. So basically, the etch is just where aluminum + acid meet. the paint sort of protects the rest. i might be missing something. It's sort of blows my mind how it turns black. i guess thats just from the reaction?

Thanks though, this shall be the choice way for me, i should think. :hobbes:

it darkens it, you can actually paint the inside of the etched part if you do it deep enough. after you etch it, just paint the entire top the color you want, then sand the PnP and paint off, you get left with the color in the grooves. check check check it out on my commie fist box

BJFE designed boost/OD/mid gain fuzz. cool pedal, switch does clipping diode swap. there were kits available from bjorn somewhere i think. the guy i built that one for bought some kits and just never got around to finishing them, so i whipped it up for him.

well, i was out of the loop on the whole thing... it might have been put together by someone else, but i know bjorn approved them. as far as i know, there aren't any other kits available from BJF, but i also don't know what future plans are.
