Heard Sandy Ewen was gonna be in town, so asked if she'd want to open at a show my band is playing on Sunday and filled up the bill just like that. Woo!

Ibarakishi informed me new MAMALEEK material was out and I could not believe it. They released an LP last year and this EP is an extension of that (wondering if it's B-Sides that didn't fit into the track listening)?
Per usual, it's really good though... they've evolved into something that is clearly the next logical step... https://mamaleek.bandcamp.com/

Really enjoying Mamaleek--I wasn't in that loop :snax:

I'm liking it significantly more than my previous fav of the recommended-to-mes of summer 2019:

I am so out da loop

I was actually going to make a call out to you and Chank. My euphemism was going to be "Jazz guys might want to check this out." MAMALEEK are legit one of my favorite bands and have been for almost a decade now. They started out as an unapologetic black metal band with a drum machine... but there was always a 'something else' quality to them. There was always hints of Jazz Influence but recently (say 2015 on, that's recent right?) they've been taking a lot of liberties with mixing (some odd EQ choices), melody, and slower rhythms. I "think" my favorite is still their second LP "Fever Dream". It's much more abrasive than the last few releases but... there is a Charlie Parker cover!

I'll check out the album you posted tonight. Thanks!

On a lighter note... if this band keeps putting out music, I'll keep listening!!!

EDIT 1: I forgot we embed the links AND post them because of inconsistencies with browsers. My bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD2jQhjGgVY
