My experimental guitar improv project Free multi-release

Post by k o y l »

Hi guys !

I started my guitar & self-sampling live improvisation project called Le Principe d'Inconstance about 9 months ago, in the year to come I'm heading for a few new projects (a band & the addition of spoken words on my improvs) so I felt the need to release the music recorded so far as some sort of souvenir of that first era of this project.

Here are extracts of the bio to explain a bit what this project is about:

All tracks are 100% improvised and played live.
The guitar + FX pedals are the only sound sources (apart from some voice samples) and the computer is used as a live looping device exclusively.
The outcome is tracks that are cinematic and have an hypnotic quality to them. The same track can range from etheral to oppressive and be made of very melodic lines or very rhythmic based parts that turn into a free form soundscape or and industrial-like wall of noise.

More infos here: http://www.myspace.com/leprincipedinconstance

The releases consist of:

* 10 short versions of improvisations compiled in one album I called "The end of the beginning"
Image
Each track is between 10 to 16 minutes long. 2 of them were not available for listen before... oh wait ! Maybe there's one more hidden somewhere..
You can download this FOR FREE here: http://leprincipedinconstance.bandcamp.com/

* A 1 hour and 35 minutes mix of several tracks. Some of them are in the album release, some other are not.
I consider this music to be more of some sound wallpapers so I though a long mix would be a nice way to experience it
It's here: http://soundcloud.com/koyl/le-principe-dinconstance-the-end-of-the-beginning-mix

* the last release will consist of all the full length improvisations. It's not ready yet and I'm not even sure that it will appeal somebody to hear 20 to 30 minutes long tracks.. ;D If you do, tell me, I'll upload them asap.

Well.. I hope, at least some of you will enjoy that.
I'd be glad to hear what you think of the new tracks and the mix. :)

Listening to it right now.

This reminds of a project I'm doing with my bass. Improvising over loops and stuff like that, but not just wanking the bass. I just like making really long dreamy soundscapes :)

I enjoy this stuff! Going to download it and put it on my mp3.
You just need a passive bass, a tube amp, and a metric ton of marijuana and Sabbath worship.

I just wanted to add 2 things:

- You have to enter your e-mail address to download the album and I'm the only one who will get it (even Bandcamp does not) so now penis enlargement or "I want to transfer $10000000000 on your ban account" mail for you (too bad he ! :P )
I'll use it only to send news about my music projects.. I mean big news ! I won't send an email each time I break a string... AND you'll ne able to unsubscribe of course.. (but i'd be crying.. :'( )

- Thos tracks are under a Creative Commons licence.. a lot of them contains a lot of sounds and textures that can be isolated and re-use a sampled sounds so feel free to make music out of them: sample them, cut them, reverse them, filter them, distort them, destroy them and make music... and let it listen to me/us.. I'm very curious to hear what can result of that. :)
