I used to listen to Flood by Boris at night.
I miss doing that.

lately ive been into just feedback using contact mics.. organic reverb sounds from springs ive attached to tripods....somthing about the the raw artifacts and unknown/surprise factor triggers a welcome response...I use drone for other reasons, my own take on meditation...like auto suggestion or some psychosomatic type behavioral changing session with droning.
but definitely pitch changes from feedback and capturing a sound from contact mics on repeat help with whatever chemical instability I might be facing...either way it always makes me feel released....where ever i go its like that now, so somthing worked in the project...listening for harmony's on the bus at the store...like the other day this old woman in the grocery line complaining that the conveyor belt was making this eeeee eeeeeeee eeeeeeee noise...its like that guy had to be there all day, and here is this woman crying over it, and all I heard was an awesome repetitious rhythm. selah.

So true... once you start droning you start hearing the music that's already out there in the mechanical hum and bustle of the world...

I used to have bad anxiety as well - stuff like Fuck Buttons helped. Especially this gem:

Yeasayer's first albums are also rather soothing - at least to me. And yes, I also used to read pitchfork.

That reminds me; David & Diane Arkenstone/Adventure Cargo.

New age music like this calms me, makes me feel like the main character in a video game, grinding on the overworld.
Great for commuting with headphones.

This entire album is like you're playing an RPG on Super Nintendo.
