interesting, never actually listened to anything "by" Leonard Feather before - not to grade on a curve, but when i looked at the credits, i didn't really expect this to be as good as it is :snax:

My library got the CD of this William Hooker album, and I must say I found it pretty tasty:

sweet - i was just thinking of him on Monday when some random guitar player's hands image flashed up on the internet and for some reason attached itself to my brainslot for his song "Scotland I" - gonna listen to this tonight! (looking forward to Alphonse kicking some ass!)

he's quite likely using some kind of solidbody (maybe not yet the Swede tho) on the Eleventh House material, but I think he's probs using his '67 Super 400 with flats on this cut - whatcha think, Chank? :snax:

bonus somewhat weird playlist:

for bonus points, check out the common descending diminished riff found in both Conciousness and Coryell's Stiff Neck. Is one (Pat) quoting the other (Larry), or are they both cribbing from the same sheet (and if so, which?) :trippy:

I suspect they were mining the same vein. :idk: :snax: (Could it be a Coltrane influence?)

yeah! snagged the early Kloss albums a few years back - def a lost gem

srsly tho, i think you're right about the shared influence. The Kloss album comes after Lady Coryell, but I always felt that descending line felt like a Trane style exercise.... :snax:
