She is just the best... this is an old one but a good one... less about 'music' and more about 'logistics'. Tfw no Liz in ur lyfe

Her voice in combination with her music in the background makes this feel like a self-contained track to me.

Great find $harkToootth! Thanks for posting this... I love her guitar / reverb / voice and it's the first time I've heard an audio recording of her speaking. That track led me to a duet between her and Ilyas Ahmed who also plays rather magnificently.

@moid - Happy you enjoyed it m8. I've read... pretty much every interview she has ever done... but I think I've only heard her actually speak twice.
Fun fact... one of her favorite reverb plug ins is one on Sound Forge.
EDIT: Also moid, this is the other instance of actually hearing her speak if you're interested https://marfapublicradio.org/blog/west- ... s-grouper/

Thanks very much! It's a shame she hasn't had any audio interviews since...

Haha Soundforge - I started out making ambient electronic tracks in the late 90s with Soundforge, having to make multiple copies of every track because it could only handle one track at a time with no layering... I recently found that CD and played it to my son... he wasn't impressed and said "at least you got better!"

He's right, but ouch!

Could've sworn this'd been posted before (a little dated at this point), but apparently not:

Recently stumbled upon this. Not exactly recent, but it is always a pleasure to listen to Belew stories.

He's just so eloquent. cEvin Key (SKINNY PUPPY). This is from some of the unused footage from I DREAM OF WIRES.

Went to see Darcy Spidle (aka chik white) talk about his musical practice today. It was livestreamed + archived here:

https://livestream.com/accounts/13330169/in-waves/videos/199135866

Recommended if you're interested in outsider jaw harp music, field recordings, body horror, etc.

He's playing a concert in the same space tomorrow night, that'll be livestreamed too: https://cmccanada.org/event/cmc-presents-chik-white-gayle-young/
solo (mostly ambient): https://heraclitusakimbo.bandcamp.com/
duo (electroacoustic vibration exploration): https://wenderlypark.bandcamp.com/
trio (tapes/voice/clarinet/synth/poems): https://ourwaytofall.bandcamp.com/
band (spontaneous kosmische): https://stargoon.bandcamp.com/

I also help co-ordinate Okta, ILF's collaborative community ambient project: https://okta.bandcamp.com
