George Duke and some of those other peeps were pretty out there. Maybe they didn't quite have Zappa's sense of humor. :animal:

Zappa was definitely a weirdo. I prefer his bro, Captain Beefheart, but that's a subject for another thread.

but there is just a bit too much smooth jazz in most of it for me, technically it's good..

I like fusion, hard bop, out jazz, etc. Don't know many names but I know when I hear that shit I put on a black turtleneck and beret and smoke tea.
