Okay this was such an obvious CaseCandy troll. Brand New innovated their genre (emo) just as much as Mudhoney innovated theirs (grunge). And I'd take BN over MH any day of the week. This having been said... even if BN were complete shit... "Brand New" is a better band name than "Mudhoney." What a declaration...!SPACERITUAL wrote:Make a video about the dangers of accidentally listening to a shitty band because they have the same name as a good band. It would be like if brand new had just said fuck it and named themselves mudhoney or something.

ANYFUCKINGWAY
I thought of another eggregious example of this that has plagued me in the past.
This is not Ghost. To paraphrase the words of one Mr. George Feeny, they are nothing but poseurs, and of the worst kind, too: poseurs wearing funhouse makeup. Tsk, tsk.
Now this... this is Ghost. One of Michiko Kurihara's armpit hairs has more cred than all the members of that other abomination combined.
So while I disagree with your specific hypothetical example... I agree with the sentiment. How dare these fuckers (formed 2006) just steal the name of an older heavy psych band (formed 1984) erasing part of their impact and career.

I don't think they would be, no.Mudfuzz wrote:I agree except for the Brand New bit Because I don't know anything about them and can't agree or disagree
and from what you've said about them at other time they aren't my cup of tea
