Utech is fuckin legit.

VagusNerve is probably the best thing ever. And man peep that Gog and Burning Tree stuff, it's always total quality. Best label. A+.

Gog's Ironworks is one of my favorite records ever. It's just an incredible force of sound

I'm throwing it on the record player right when I get home, it's been a while since I've listened. The best part was I just bought it on a whim when I first discovered Utech :joy:

Yeah I know Utech because they put out one of Phantasmagrovich's records, I think, but I've never really delved that far into their catalog. This is really, really good.

I'm quite partial to Ondo from Sweden, I put out a CDR from him a few years ago.

Sleep Research Facility are fantastic, and I can't suggest the album Nostromo enough.

Zoat-Aon have several fantastic records. Everything on the Aural Hypnox label is great.

I'll list some more once I've recovered from my bachelor party camping hangover

I came here to post about Nordvarg and Aural Hypnox haha. Aural Hypnox used to be my jam back in the day

That's how I found them as well. Their Ursk series was really cool, I've really dug Ural Umbo, the Pan Gu release was also cool. Sum Of R is also a group to check out.

This is also very cool and very dark: http://www.utechrecords.com/Jacob-The-Ominous

That Owwl CD was total quality. And then I find out our boy Phantasm is in the band.

Gog are so hella tight. I think they have a new one I haven't bought yet too.....

Here is another one I like. A Bill Laswell and MJ Harris collab. Track 1 below. Also check out MJ Harris' project "Lull" for some nice stuff.

One more to throw in there, Desbot is the bassist from Jakob and it's definitely a drone/dark ambient thing

Hate to toot my own horn but I've done some darker ambient stuff as well. Free on my bandcamp if you dig it.

i wish i knew more about this stuff cause i do like this kind of music, but i haven't dug terribly deep. i was going to recommend ben frost, but he's already been mentioned twice. not exactly the same thing but if you're digging this other stuff i'm sure you'll like him. also, you probably know lurker of chalice, but if not it's exactly what you've described. it's the guy behind leviathan and the record is kind of like he made an album of material that is like the ambient interludes on his black metal albums. it's really good. if you can, check out sacrificial totem as well. really good stuff.
