Lately I've been into Saor and Calladan Brood.

Love the Celtic aspects of Saor in particular.

Saor's latest album is so good.

I love it. People trash the production but I don't get it...? I think the production is fine.

Pretty much everything in this photo are things that you should buy. Though the flag that came with the soar diehards is kinda shitty....and they didn't come with lyric booklets. Which fucking pisses me off. How are you going to release "die hard" editions with no lyric booklet????

I love that album, but while were talking about them, Jfrey and I had a moment when we were driving my car to the SANNHET/LITURGY show where i put the album that they released before it on and it went something like this....

*one song in*

SPACERITUAL: ".....uuuuuh"
SPACE RITUALS FRIEND MIKE: "...this is uh...."
JFREY: "...hey lets listen to the new FLOOR cd instead"

And thats the story of how we drove around for six hours listening to OBLATION on repeat. Also there were cops. And a migrant worker from mexico or something.

Liturgy is white belt nonsense and you know it.

Way too easy, dude. Also, no gracenote on Winamp means tagging tracks is a pain in the ass.

Okay, so I've just read through this entire thread, and need some more listening advice. I like the Sun Worship stuff that was posted earlier, all of the stuff Skully did/wrote, Ghost Bath/Deafheaven, Liturgy, Thou (does Thou count?), and pretty much everything that had a harsh noise element to it. Also Wolves In The Throne Room and Woe are two of my favorite bands. Suffice to say, I really like blackened shit but I have no frame of reference for actual black metal. What should I get into? Atmospheric is rad, but also grindy, dirty, and punk influenced tends to be up my alley. All my roommate listens to is black metal but his is all of this like "epic" quality and I'm not really about it. So yeah, what should I listen to?

If you look on the first page I made 2 posts for classics and one man projects. I think those are both good places to start with getting into more black metal.

Although... it looks like a lot of the Youtube links have been taken down. I'm sure you can find the stuff listed though.

Just listen to this song over and over. If you don't like it you don't like black metal.
