i found a way to make it less crappy!
listen to the song carefully and figure out how to make it less crappy without changing the song *too much*
this is more about the production of the song
example, and probably not a good one...
maroon fives This Love
fuzz up the bassline a bit with a US
put some chorus on the guitar and pan hard left
then some flange on a lightly overdriven guitar track and pan hard right
add some backing vocals to the "whoa-oh-oh" after the choruses
that little flute fill thing? make it some 16-bit video game flute sound, like from FF6, searching for friends
the organ, throw some leslie on it
piano tracks more reverb
and that little part where it goes kinda lo-fi? keep it going but toss it to about 10'o clock maybe 10:30ish
