R. I. P.!

so weird - i'm on a road trip and yesterday we had a long convo about "secret jam bands" and we brought up an opinion someone not on the trip has that Television was a jam band. Then we stopped at a huge used book store where one of the handful of things I made a point of searching out for my fellow traveler was a volume of the OG Verlaine's poetry (had to settle for a copy of 'The Crying of Lot 49' though (which just now strikes me as further weirdness)). Anyway, I didn't hear about Tom til a few minutes ago.
So glad I got to see him in Philly when Television toured (with Jimmy Rip (more weirdness!?!) a few years back....

I think about this song all thee thymme, but moreso because it chugs into infinity (RIP Ricky, as whale).
Also, my niece took up guitar recently, and I bought her a copy of Marquee Moon to commemorate the occasion over the new year, even though I probably listen to this s/t LP more often in my head.
