You said you don't need fancy looking things to be inspired, which doesn't make any sense considering your past and current gear and business of making gear look nicer/cooler, so at this point the purpose was to point that out so we could continue with the discussion on these particular pedals' aesthetics. You didn't, at the time of writing, seem to inhabit the amount of self-insight or self irony to realize your logical error in regards to aesthetics=inspiration and have a laugh about it and went full-on defensive mode. I thought that was unlike you and thought 'not worthy of my time' was a cheap excuse, so I challenged you some more to see if you were willing to admit that you also care about aesthetics. That was a bad calculation on my part, apparently, because I didn't realize I had upset you as much as I must have done. So, that was my trail of thoughts, and I definitely didn't mean to make you upset, only to discuss and banter. I wouldn't challenge your opinion if I didn't care what you thought of the issue, which was why I was a little relentless in letting it go. I did not, however, want it to get hostile the way I interpreted your last reply before this one to be, so I opted out. I like and respect you, so I'd rather we not discuss it further if we're not able to keep it civil, you know? OK. Rant over.

Also interested in this. And other variants? I've never tried one.

Even when it's in the full mix on position, you have great lows. I love the pedal and have owned one off and on for the last decade or more. Excane introduced me and I fell in love. In fact, it's sitting on my board right now. The only reason I have mine listed is I'm broke. Shit sucks.
Jwar wrote:One of my basses is passive/active. The response is slightly different but I actually think it sounds better with a passive bass. It's a powerful pedal, so it doesn't really need that extra push from a preamp. If however you want a more crunch sound, it's better with an active.

You don't like War Machine?
No ill intent, I just ran out of ideas. Didn't mean to imply that you (or anyone really) were taking active part in the argument. You can be one of the Guardians if you want to?
