I have a friend who got fitted plugs and swears by them. I'm definitely tempted but I'm very prone to losing small fiddly things.

Super cool use of indigenous imagery for capital gain

& for posterity, this is on the company FAQ page:

What is your connection with the Great Sioux Nation?

None. We actually named Sioux Guitars after our hometown of Sioux City, Iowa. Our guitar pedals are all named for Sioux City landmarks or events and our amps are named after historic Sioux City packing houses which was the industrial driver of Sioux City for most of it’s history.

Chuck Dukowski has laid down the low end for some of the hottest So-Cal punk bands, like Wurm, SWA, October Faction, Black Flag, now CD6. Chuck has uses Sioux pedals to bring his monstrous bass tone to life.

Real talk, I have tinnitus and it fucking sucks. I also have TMJ, not sure if those are related...

Anyway, I need some ear plugs but am always afraid I won't be able to fucking hear myself. Suggestions?

Good plugs will most likely allow you to hear yourself better. I felt that way abt the hearos, though they are by no means great.

I plan to get a pair of fitted this year as I plan to maneuver into places that I'm not in complete control over sound wise. I've unfortunately only been in headphone and studio monitor spaces the past 3 years.

I have TMJ and recently read some info that leads me to believe that they are related. Also related to migraine headaches...not sure if you get those but I do. It's interesting to think that most of the weird issues I have in my head/face might all be related. But it is also frustrating that one poorly designed part (that for the most part is not repairable) is fucking up the whole engine.

Anyway...fitted ear filters man. You will def be able to hear yourself. I can't remember if you have a band or not, but I can totally hear what I'm doing within the context of a really loud band.

Does anyone have experience with using ginkgo to treat tinnitus? Sounds like snake oil but I figure you never know...

ETA: Here's one study... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3157487/
