Another BoC sound thread

So in my endless chasing of the Boards of Canada sound I finally when on a instant lofi junkie. It definitely gets close, but the heavy compression and finickiness the dial-in make me lead towards flipping it.

The next obvious stop would be the try a CBA warped vinyl but I have often gotten really lost with the other CBA pedals I have tried. What else does that heavily filtered vinyl/vibrato sound that I am obviously missing

Give the Cooper FX Generation Loss a look. Massively popular around here, and deservedly so. Good for that VHS warble...

I'm super into the gen loss but I feel that there is not enough units out there for me to easily get my hands on one with out a fair bit of markup

Also Drolo has a "grandpa's vinyl" patch on the molecular compactor that I've been told is a warped vinyl killer.

But it's not gonna be any cheaper than a gen loss.

What are your sound sources? Cause those are every bit as important as the warble.
Favorite BoC is the two volume collection of early tunes. Who am I kidding? I love everything those two crazy fucks ever did :animal:
EDIT I: Not implying you need a CS-80 or some shit but some oscillator drift / detuned oscillators is fairly essential.
EDIT II: I will literally never part with my Gen Loss. It's just a great pedal that is so much more capable than what it is know for. But it does what it is known for AMAZINGLY. There is a reason that pedal sells out with-in seconds. #copperfx4lyfe

The Gen Loss is the best pedal option I can think of... interested to hear more about that Drolo. There are some cool software options out there; they do lose the fun of pedal format, but they usually make up for it with a lot of controls/presets. Fun for slapping on a 2-bus or something like that. Audioease Speakerphone does some cool shit, but it's expensive. That said, if you happen to have Reaktor, this one is rad and free:

I think you MIGHT be able to use it free for 30 minutes with Reaktor player? Not sure how that works—I've got the full version.

Doesn't BOC use a pitch pirate?

That would be really cool if that was the case. I'm sure that pedal can get you into that territory pretty quickly regardless.
Ibanez Echo Shifter would be an option on the delay end.

Oh man which ones! That sounds awesome! You can get pretty sweet 'The Color of Fire' sounds from those.
I need to look into your music. This appeals and arouses me.
