ok so let's talk looping, yo.
love me some akai e2 but need dat longer time. fool!
also has smmh but that may be going into the vast unknown. CT5 needed...
all this talk of frim fram firmware glitches and bugs has me :idk:
pretty much down to these to either replace or add to:
- ehx 720 (hear it glitches... but has cool features)
- tc ditto x2 (hear pretty nice and fuzzy things about this one so far)
- tc ditto x4 (hear it's really buggy... but also has cool features)
- line 6 DL4 (kick it old school, man. but again, limited on time.)
- digitech stereo jamman (looks nifty, and a buddy has one he uses for samples)
- ?

like the features but really need a solid longer time looper with dedicated start and stop buttons or one that acts without double tap to stop
also silent erase etc stuff for live and recording things
you get me? brah.
:hobbes:

good luck, I'd check their firmware updates for progress on their site though.
MA is doing crazy stuff with their CT5 firmware, and can't wait to finally get one.
but want something I don't have to worry about any of that. I worry too much about life shit. that's why WEED.

THIS IS WHAT I CRAVE.
anyways, here goes...

basically a 3 stomp setup plus the expression for control of the fx knob
- rec/play
- stop/undo
- fx [on/off]

with these features on each

- rec/play
tap to record and tap again to play without recording
double tap to stop while recording
hold while recording to go into dubbing mode again

- stop/undo
tap to stop
double tap to undo the last section recorded
hold to undo all sections except the first layer track

- fx [on/off]
tap to start and tap again to stop the main effect selected
double tap to start the 2nd effect selected and double tap again to stop
hold to switch the main effect and hold again to switch the second effect. repeat to switch again...

MAKE THIS. SOMEBODY. PLEASE.

I have a JamMan Solo XT at the end of my (stereo) board. It has served me well, with an extra memory card there's tons of space. You are however limited to 200 slots each there, or even less on the internal memory if you have long loops. Silent erase while playing loop, yes, single tap to stop, no, but you could get the extra switch for that.

It's a bit finicky to edit, but gets easier after a while. Annoyingly needs its own special wall wart, regular 9v plugs are too big. Software for importing loops to your computer sucks though, a real hassle, hence it's been a couple years since I did that. It probably doesn't have what you need, but maybe one of the bigger ones do? Jam men seem to go cheap used.

I'm sick of all the shitty loopers that have such weird and arbitrary restrictions. I've decided to make my own looper using axoloti. From what I've read about it you can have the features you're talking about decomposing. I'm actually looking for almost the same feature set. I just wasn't going to have any effects and I wanted midi in/thru. Realistically I think whether or not I add effects will depend on how hard it is to implement. I'd rather have an effects loop as opposed to built in effects, but we'll see (then instead of an off/off switch for effects you could use the expression pedal to adjust the balance of wet/dry signals). First I'll buy the board and see what it can do.

I have used the Boss RC-3, RC-20, RC-50, RC-300, Jamman Solo, Pigtronix Infinity, TC Ditto X4 and am currently using Circular Labs Mobius.

Three or more buttons, I think you are looking at RC-50/RC-300, Ditto X4, Boomerang, as far as I can remember. Mobius is my favorite so far but it is software so you need a computer, sound card and a cheap midi foot controller but it is easily customized with off the shelf scripts that others have written.

X4 had some bugs but I got into their beta program and they were constantly updating the software to fix them. I liked the RC-5-/RC-300 except for the size. Good luck!

I don't know why everybody forgets the EHX 22500.

2 loops that can be synced or not, memories (stores sounds on an SD card), reverse, 1/2 or *2 speed per track, small enough. I like mine...

I found it extremely annoying to use with your feet. Like all the cool stuff needs to be dialed with the rotary encoder... push, rotate, push, hold, press switch, rotate...

It was a fucking nightmare, but it has great features in a small package for a great price!

Boomerang III is awesome! But to my knowledge the tech guy behind it died and they don't have any plans to update it and I'm guessing make other stuff.
Ditto X4 would be a close second with exception of it bugging out on me.
