12 days remain before we enter 2017, with a massive gifting holiday smack in the middle :poke:
Doesn't sound like much but it's nearly two weeks, which is 1/26th of the year and a lot can materialize in that time :snax:

I have bought and flipped so much shit this year.
I have a few regrets. Flipping that is. But they've all been for the greater good. I feel like my gear stach is modest but fucking strong now.
Like, I got rid of all the deadweight/B listers and I've got one A Grade squad of supermutants that can just smash it.
Like, the Avengers, if the Avengers were all Punisher and Deadpool.
And maybe Dark Pheonix.
Edited because I forgot Agent Venom.
But dirtgame 2016 has been fucking killer.
I'm bummed to be offloading my Dunn and my Treble Booster, but I'm getting a SS140 so that pretty much more than makes up for it.

REAL happy with my Dunwich Fuzz Throne.
Buzzz has been rad.
Nils sent me PS2 for Secret Satan from last year. That's been trippy.

Best: DOUBLE PHASE ACTION (HUGE thank you Chank and Andrew, you guys fucking rule! All of my love to you two   )
Compact Limbo III Proto
I'm with vid. It's a fucking giant killer that guy.

I don't think I've had a shit pedal this year.

I try to keep a list, but this one was last edited in August, so the real question is: what have I bought since then?

OP-1
Bastl microgranny
Bitquest traded for echo degrader
Tape soup and behringer Super fuzz for ILFSS :joy:
Echo degrader traded for warped vinyl
Warped vinyl traded for pitchfactor
Fulltone supa trem
Generation lost
CT5
EHX 8-step
Blunderbuss
DOD250
Telemaster parts
Zvex Fuzz factory
Arcane analog buzzaround
Super fuzz clone
P.e Germ

Stuff after the list/not on it:
True tone one spot pro CS12
One control black minimal looper
Korg SQ-1
TE PO-12

Best: OP-1 probably. Best pedal is harder, I use the CT5 all the time, but i do that with all my pedals now. It's a toss up between the CT5 and pitchfactor to be honest. I haven't bought anything made this year, sooooo

Worst: well the buzzaround wasn't for me. It sounded good, but I need a more modern version. I like 9vdc jacks, I like master volumes and stuff. So probably that

Best:
Pretty Years - Tubey, mangled filtered dirt. I can spend hours with this thing.
Nemesis - So versatile and the app is great!
Meatbox - LOWS!

Worst:
Space Fuzz clone. It was just broken. I mean, it worked, but it sounded terrible and had the most insane volume boosts in random settings, such as volume close to zero. It was also dead on arrival so that I had to solder it back to life.

Yeah, I find that there are still pedals that have a different sound and don't sit AS well in my chain (lookin at you, Buzzz. Why the fuck you gotta be so bassy and nearly as loud as a BAT pedal?) but, it's no big deal.
Most of my shit interacts pretty sweet.
EVERYBODY PLAY NICE.

Shittttt.

I could be confusing the end of 2015 for some stuff but I don't think I am.

I got my SS2015 gift in 12/31nso I'm including that stuff.

ss/bs Buzzz
EQD Afterneath
Way Huge Green Rhino Mk II
EHX POG2 -- flipped
Source Audio Nemesis Delay (still haven't scratched the surface on this)
Digitech Jam Man Stereo -- flipped
Mission Engineering VM-1 -- flipped
Caroline Guitar Co. Haymaker -- flipped
EQD Bit Commander -- flipped
MIDI bass synth pedals
Dreadbox Hades synth
Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster
MXR M80 DI/Bass distortion -- flipped
Buddha Custom Wound JM pickups
Blk/Tri pickups for my telecaster
GK Backline 600 Bass Amp
Montreal Assembly Count to Five
Old Blood Noise Endeavors Utility 1 headphone amp
Dr. Scientist The Elements
TC Electrinic Dittox2

I think that's it's. A favorite? Tough call. I would probably go with The Elements. It's just so damn versatile. But I get a lot of use out of the Afterneath.

Edit because baremountain did it...

2017 things I may try to get my hands on...

Cooper FX Generation Loss
80tape In Limbo
Dwarfcraft Wizard of Pitch Deluxe
Dwarfcraft Happiness
Dwarfcraft Twin Stags
OBNE Dark Star v2
OBNE Procession v2
DigDugDIY Waifu Reverb

Other stuff, I'm sure.

Oh geeze, this year I dove head-first and haven't looked back. My list is long, and thinking about it I have no clue how I've afforded even half this stuff, but I made it work somehow. I shed most of my old pedals and got a full new arsenal of magical stompboxes. Edit: after typing the list up, I do know how I afforded all this, and that's because I sold half of it

Bought (* = flipped; ** = flipped, but would buy again)
Count to 5
Buzzz**
Scarlett 18i20 Interface
Alexander F-13*
Mantic Proverb*
TC Triple Delay*
Red Panda Bitmap*
Boredbrain Patchulator 8000
Critter & Guitari Organelle
Super Radical Delay*
Barn3 switching system for the Pitchfactor
Happiness
Eau Claire Thunder**
Pretty Years
EHX 8-Step Program
Mtl Asm 856
Positive*
Your & You're**
Arturia Microbrute*
New (used) tenor saxophone
Echo Degrader
Fairfield Accountant
Abracadabra Audio Ayahuasca* (felt the financial consequences & wasn't totally in love w it tbh)
Volca Beats
Volca FM
Volca Bass
Kieth McMillen K-Mix
Supermoon Chrome
ARF
Twin Stags
Keystep
Yankee HS-M24 Power Supply
Chase Bliss Spectre (etched by JonnyAngle)

Best:
Pretty Years has rocked my fucking world this year.
Dwarfcraft/CV connectivity has opened up a whole new world for me creatively.
856/ct5 have also been mind-expanding
Organelle was my first synth, definitely the top swiss-army tool in my arsenal.
Volca FM is the most in-depth dedicated hardware synth I've ever played.

Worst:
- Not the pedal's fault, but my 856 was partially broken on arrival, so after 3 days I shipped it back to Scott, waited a month, and had it shipped back to me Nov 14. The last time it was scanned it was "in transit" from New York to Dallas & never arrived. That was November 18, so I've pretty much accepted one of my favorite pedals is lost in the mail. Trying to be patient as the beaurocratic wheels "search" for my missing package but I have very little hope and thinking about it gives me really heavy boots  Also most certainly still out that $375 which stings.
- TC Triple Delay. Plug & play capabilities on that thing are like a 1/100. I never knew whether I was dialing in a preset or turning on the delay that I'd just edited. Tried the toneprint thing and literally could not tell whether it worked or not. I was very happy to get rid of that thing.

Plans for next year: (honestly don't need these, but GAS never sleeps, and I like trying things out)
-Preordered a Dream Reaper already
-Determined to get a Generation Loss
-Gonna hop on that Dwarfcraft Super Wizard train when those go on sale too
-Lightningwave EVA, most likely
-Volca Sample, perhaps?
-Recover my funds lol
Inner Vegas wrote:I don't think anyone is Obama

solo tunes:
completed works || loosey goosey releases
associated acts:
Raab Zamboni (fake jazz/real noise//sax, modular synth, editing, misc) || Field Guide (my best friends//sax on 2 tracks)

I make t-shirts, patches, koozies, buttons, CDs, sometimes tapes, and eventually i'll start working on pedals again. DM me for pricing!

Well, let's see...

Bought:

Nine of Swords Satanic Fuzz Ritual
Montreal Assembly Goodbye 24 (my second one)
Dwarfcraft Spectacular Aenima
Catalinbread Antichthon
Recovery Effects Sound Destruction Device
Fuzzhugger Phantom Arcade
MASF Bloody Emily
Straightline Audio Tic Deluxe
Zvex Fuzz Factory
Catalinbread Csidman
LAL Sick Pitch King jr.
LAL Transroom*
Dwarfcraft Super Destroyer
Boss DM-2

Flipped everything except for the Goodbye 24, the Super Destroyer and the DM-2. The latter two are recent arrivals though, so we'll see. This was the year that I more or less finished my fuzz quest, decided to get rid of everything that wasn't in regular use, and follow the strict way of the samurai. :zen: No pedals were in any way "worst", just not stuff I had any interest in hanging on to.

As for 2017, I've also preordered the Dream Reaper, will probably get the Super Wizard and definitely the Bananana Mandala. Apart from that, I probably will not buy stuff, unless the Homicide Noodle and/or the Moduloscillo should materialize. I'm pretty content with my setup these days.

Bought:

Damn near all of the Euro I own.
Pretty Years
856 for Paying My Future Kids College Tuition
DIY stuff to build more Euro.
Built Mutable Instruments Ambika
Volca FM (parents xmas gift to me this year)
Revolver (flipped because I liked the Possessed more)
Another Possessed (first one I traded for above Revolver)
Judder
RV-3
80tape In Limbo II (best delay I've ever owned)
Mellowtone Melxfuzz 2 (great pedal to stack into everything. Kills with...)
Mexi Telecaster + BLK/TRI pickups.

Eurorack has ruined me and I suggest you all join in on it.

Building the Ambika was the best decision I made. Thing is phenomenal on phenomenal. I don't have much time to play right now but when I do again it'll be a blast. Can't wait to 856 my Volca FM.

Not too many pedals this year. I got a DBA Waveform Destroyer thinking it'd be sweet and it was kind of terrible

I bought and sold a TR8 which was cool & fun but further revealed how im still not into programming music atm. Sold all my other electronic instruments, too. Volca Keys & Beats, Drone Commander...

I bought a bass rig, GK500MB & an Orange 1×15. I've barely used it. Part of me feels like giving up bass and trying to play with people but I'm holding onto it still...

I was playing acoustic guitar mostly until this tendinitis struck my left wrist. I haven't played regularly since August and its been pretty depressing, but at least this whole debacle with my wrist lead me to my best gear purchase this year:

kbit wrote:Image

In the short time I have played it it's been glorious. Still need to change the wiring configuration to how I want it & replace the bridge saddles with something adjustable, but it's still a wonderful instrument. I can't wait to break it out and play it constantly once my wrist is back where it needs to be.
