Midnight Amplification Devices experiences?

Just wanted to bump this to update:

I finally received my holy mountain after a 7 month wait, and all the screws that hold on the back plate are the wrong size/don't fit the case  everything was loose in the box when I got it.
It sounds fine I guess. When I ordered it I didn't have a real matamp and now that I have one it's 100% redundant so to reverb it goes. I get salty just looking at it, if I kept it it would just be a permanent reminder of my abysmal experience with Nic and his "company".

Damn, that's a real bummer.
How'd it compare to the real deal, though?

They sound pretty similar, if one really wanted that green/dopesmoker tone it'll get you there. I'm gonna sit on it for a few days and see how I feel, my big muds and dunwich hm2 actually sound really good going into it.

It may sound good but if I had known my order would turn into a 7 month pain in my ass I never would have gotten it in the first place.

How do you usually set it?
Any time I try using a Big Muff with mine it sounds like a blanket's covering it.

I had to fiddle with the presence and treble a bit to get it to not sound like mush. I think I kept the gain pretty low on both of em actually, like 10-11 o'clock for both pedals

Hi.

No, I'm not that active outside of the usual social media. Best way to get at me directly is to email info@dunneffects.com. I get every message and have the time to make a decent reply.

Green Priest (formerly the Zealot) is open for pre-orders now; usually 4 wk average turnaround for pre-orders from me.

And Beef - If you want something else on the enclosure than the usual artwork, drop me a line. I can do something alternate on the box if that's all that's holding you back! haha

Thanks for the kind words all!

Oh and on the original subject, I've never ordered one direct from Midnight, so I can't speak to a direct order experience, but I have Sonic Violence here I picked up second hand and it's a solid Rat variant.

How long are the green priest preorders gonna be up? I get paid next week and I'd love to grab one. Been following your stuff for a long while and have yet to pull the trigger on something!

Nice guy Matt rolls in. Offers up his wares without being an ass and even has something nice to say about midnight.

Classy.

Totally.
And I'm gonna take this opportunity to vouch for the Dunn DE1984 (now redeemer).
Shit is good.
If the Green Priest is on par you'll be set.

Hey so like a year or two ago I bought the host moon from a dealer in ontario who decided not to carry his stuff, so I didnt have to deal with midnight amplification directly but, it was kind of a shitty fuzz. It had a crazy high noise floor and basically had one gain setting that sounded good. The eq only changed the sound at the most extreme settings. So I sold it and stayed with a big muff that Stanimal made and etched that sounded waaay better and also he sold for $50. So I guess don't buy from MAD not because he's sketchy but because its all style no substance.

Over at TGP he's all the rage.

Really? That, for whatever reason, is very surprising.

I wanted a Holy Mountain so super bad, and was in talks with him to order one, but then the drama started. So then I went and bought a Cat 'O' Dyne from Iskrem, and it solved all of my problems. Plus it's got tubes!

Old thread I know, but those of you who have a Holy Mountain, how do you like it?
