Just see if you can try it somewhere and see for yourself.

Sure, but what if I decided on the do-it-all delay, but wanted recommendations for, say, a PT2399? Anything out there that gives you some control over the color of the repeats and doesn't cost like $400? Don't really even need any modulation or tap tempo, the smmh's got that covered...

Disaster Transport? The small jr version would be cheaper if you don't want that awesome modulation.

The Disaster Transport isn't PT2399 though...It's analog voiced, with a tone control, basically like the obscura, which does a couple other things as well...:idk:

Screw tt, I'd like a tone control...:idk:

The only reviews on the echo-puss I can find that are not super positive, mension that the repeats are "bland", or that the "lack character".

Sounds like something I have to find out for myself. The specs:price ratio is strong in this one :excellent:

How about a Black Fountain. No tone control but it's got what amounts to a cut switch plus the organ mode.

I'd be happy to sell you one....

Digitech obscura looks awesome. I've never tried it but it seems great in demos and I've read good things about it.

I say get it just because I want it haha.

I stand corrected, cheers!

I always get my facts wrong, mistaking pt2399 for an analog chip

Not too big considering what it has to offer...Boss quality, reverb+delay,...

I'm not sure yet what to think of the COSM technology though, back in the day I used to have one of the first digital 8 track recorders (boss, roland, not sure) that left me traumatised about COSM effects. Back than it was pretty revolutionary I guess, but verry few of those COSM onboard effects didn't sound extremely cold/metallic, and there was constant hiss :idk:

Not fair I suppose, I'm sure a lot has changed since then...Right? :idk:

I'm considering this too. I love the multitap and the afterneath kind of does it. combined with a CT5 and a good looper plus an analog delay and digital delay
HOLY SHEEEEET
but yeah, what else does multitap?
I'm eyeing the obscura as well. the pedal game is crazy these days.

Seems lile multitap isn't too easy to achieve on smallish bread and butter delay pedals :idk: I don't actually know any non-rack units besides maybe the H9 (which is hardly an affordable/smallish delay pedal) that do anything remotely multitap-like. The afterneath is awesome, but it's somewhat limited as a conservative plate/hall reverb, and it's not my idea of a tweakable multitap delay either :idk:

I ended up settling for a Ditto X2 (basicly only for reverse 1/2 speed textures), Echo Puss, Ibanez ES-2 (one of those two will go on the chopping block btw, having a hard time deciding) and an RV-3. I would still love to get my hands on an RE-20 though. Too bad it's supposedly really noisy :/

My obsura GAS hasn't dissapeared, I still think it might do convincing analog sounds that are more tweakable than my current analog delays, AND there's the different modes as well as the stereo i/o. No tap tempo, and meh graphics, but other than that...Decent bang for the buck, right? :idk:
