Daisy Chains

Postby waltdogg » Sun Jan 31, 2016 9:45 pm

I need a daisy chain. For three pedals. With only male plugs at right angles. I'm currently using the 9V out on my TU-3 to power my other two pedals and take power from a 1 SPOT. Now I could just get creative and buy a 3 or 5 pedal daisy chain with a female end and cut it down, which I've already done. But I was hoping to not always have to do that when it comes time to replace it. I get why these don't exist/are hard to find. I'm probably the only person that does this. But if anyone's seen a barrel plug daisy chain that's all male plugs at right angles let me know. Otherwise I'll just keep buying cheap daisy chains and maiming them. I just cant help but think leaving the end that I cut open is a bad idea.

Just take electrical tape on the cut end and wrap it well.

If you're feeling really fancy, can use shrink tubing and seal it near-permanent.

Not aware of anything off the shelf like what you're asking, and if what you've done works, just keep going that route.

Eh, I think ibanez made one or rebranded one like that years ago. But good luck finding one (I found one in a junk shop near 15 years ago).

A nice idea would be to get one of those little Hammond mini pedal boxes and make a distributor box then you could use the replacement cables for a voodoo lab or something and mount it under a board.

Hmm. I did try electrical tape but the plug end was too fat, shrink miiiiight work though. Kinda worried about heat on the small cable. Well yeah of course I'm just gonna keep doing it until something goes wrong. I was hoping for a cleaner solution.

I'll keep an eye for one of those old ones then. If I were to use to do that I'd just get a Cioks DC5 for all isolated power but that's a bit pricey for me right now.

How have we gotten this far without someone suggesting you find a 9v vibrator and just plug that into the extra sockets?

Damn, ILF, you disappoint.

Is there a suicide emote?

Maybe if I sold some of the gear I was selling I could buy a DC5.
