Brandsmannens demo thread (OP-1)

Post by fcknoise »

Hey ILF,

I finally had time to sit down and dive into the OP-1 for reals. Actually, I don't have time, but I made time. And BOY this shit is amazing. Made a little jam video for people who might be interested in this thing

With a growing collection of gear and stuff I figured I might do as UG and UC and everybody else, and start a thread for whenever I stumble upon something shareworthy. To start of, I made some videos of my alltime favorite delay, the digitech timebender. It seems kinda generic at first, but it is so extremely tweakable that I keep finding new sounds in it that amazes me.

Hi, two new videos here :) One of them is older, but I started to miss the particle after seeing it, so I uploaded it anyways.

I absolutely love the Echo Dream 2. Funnest pedal I've played in a long time

haha, thank you dude  The ED2 is really great. I love the onboard fuzz as well. It is super sensitive to dynamics, and can go from like clean to fuzzy as shit without any knob turnin. And the modulation kicks ass.

Been busting out my old Cort newbie bass lately, and it's been super fun. Made a clip of the bass > fuzz > timebender with the "resonance" setting shown in the first post. Enjoy :)

Two clips of me using the Cyber Psychic. First one more of a demo, second one I use it as a sound source for a drone.

EEEEEEEE!!! Definitely watching my old pedal being put to good use later today! I recommend getting an expression pedal for it though. Really brings it to life!

nice work brandsmannens, very much liked the ed2 clip, but hard to tell what was on and when. but sounded sweet as an ensemble.
dba ed2 is probably my next reverb/echo build dependent on finding a reliable layout. ed1 is out there but 2 sounds deeper.
am currently building a dwell-modded eqd ghost w belton brick, that's a beauty. jack deville does a a nice 'dark echo', which stands up well with fuzz-ambient. and if you are into old-school low-fi, try finding an old pt2395 chip dan echo and doing the r10 infinite repeats mod. has a hi-cut pot on it which gives you lush bouncing tapey-sounding repeats without dirtying up too quick.
have you tried the boss re-20 space echo copy? have only tried in shops not band situations, and have never been completely convinced. do you use them?
anyway, nice demos, keep the good stuff coming.

I can definitely recommend the ED2. IIRC in that clip both the space (no extreme settings here) and the ED2 was the only things on. Dirt coming from just the ED2.

Oh that sounds very interesting, I'll keep an eye out on the DIY sub forum for that! I have tried RE-20 in shops, and always been intrigued by it, but I kinda feel like the tape echo void has been filled by my El Capistan. On the delay/verb side of things I really want a boss RV-3

And thank you for the kind words and delay tips, I'll research said danelectro delay! Sounds interesting
