Re: I'm no Excane but... (BitQuest vs The Elements)

Postby goroth » Fri Feb 20, 2015 6:45 am

I've been kinda slacking and kinda hard at work on the demo front. Tried to do a bit of a play through demo and ran into an enormous pile of synchronisation problems in iMovie. In the process I learned about "audio drift" due to sample rates being interpreted differently and I also learned that iMovie can bite my shiny reptilian ass. So to speak.

Anyways, this is a demo I did for my band of a new tune I wrote, and I thought I might as well turn it into an effects demo. The main thing everybody should learn from all of this is that Nelson Socialites were made for metal, the Elements rules and the BitQuest rules. Fairly simple.

And here is a quicky I did to convince Syl not to buy a lofi loop junky.

Yep. Obviously I never use it ;)
Nah, it's actually really cool to put it on an extreme crackle setting where your notes are almost unrecognisable spluttering crap and blend in the clean signal so that it becomes more conventionally "musical". Pretty rad.

Assuming our new bass player doesn't leave the band right before we go into the studio this may actually end up getting recorded for realsies. Autumn is the preliminary goal.

It's a Suneater. It's rad. This demo is entirely Sylnau's fault. Next demo will have more chugga chugga's, pick scrapes and pinch harmonics.

I can't help but think of Achtane's impression whenever i read "Tom Waits."

Your impression is not helping.

I didn't actually use the real lyrics, I just quoted Achtane for 4 minutes.

He's getting 50% of the royalties
