Coooooooooooooooool!
That's a seriously planned setup, went back to see your signal chain to understand how it's routed: the amount of simultaneous loops that you can process separately is impressive.

(also, 3 levels of pedal raisers! How tall does that whammy get? aerobic footswitch pressing )

Thanks all ! I'm pretty happy with it :)

Yeah it's basically built for me to be able to perform solo with a lot of things running while I'm on "the other board" (tape/toys/synth), so there are some different loops parts that can be send to another looper, it can evolve a bit on its own, it's pretty fun and alive ! And the whammy always got some gymnastic jokes since I started Hors Sujet with this board. I should put a sticker "I don't use the expression pedal" haha :D

Today's set up, now including Miku once again :)

I had a look on Reverb this morning and the prices currently start at £270, which is ridiculous. I don't imagine any have sold for anywhere near that.

Yeah, wanted to get a Miku for trying on the trombone board, but the used prices are completely bonkers.

Chain: Hexe Sound Cartridge > Holy Island Audio Tides (w/ Bitquest in FX loop) > SSBS TAFM > Drolo Stamme[n] > Pest Tattern > DC Hax2 > BioMoon

I need to get one of those fancy expression pedals that can control several pedals now, because I want it for both the Sound Cartridge to sweep through presets and Hax2 frequency. :snax:

Wooooo! :!!!:

It's a really fun board right now. Sound Cartridge, Stammen and Hax2 takes care of my broken videogame themed needs and the rest fulfills my shoegazy post-rocky ambient bedroom jam Corona time needs. I do miss not having the meatbox on there, as it's been on there for years, but the octave down function on the biomoon sort of scratches that itch. Trying to get more grip on ringmods with the Hax2 and it definitely makes me want to try more flavors of it. They're so corny and inspiring. :animal:

Awesome board!

How do you like the Tides? Seems like a great idea to run the bitquest through the effects loop for even more flexibility.

I only got it yesterday, but my initial thoughts are mainly positive. There are some things I'd do differently (have reverb mix go higher/be louder, and swap the swell for an FX loop gain parameter as you've got to have a fairly hot signal in there to hear it (I'm using the BitQuest's dirty side, which has volume on tap, so for me it's OK)), but it sounds really nice and the build quality is very good. It's not as unhinged as say an rm-1n, but if definitely leans into noisy territory a bit while still keeping its foot fairly secured in a more shoegaze-y, ambientish area, if that makes any sense at all.

that sound cartridge is really messing up your top-mounted jack game, though

i changed the order around somewhat.

MXR Distortion + (c. 1978...my first pedal ever)
Wren & Cuff Tall Font Russian (Green Russian Big Muff) (center right)
CMC Effects MK II (Tone Bender)(center)
Fuzzhugger 3-knob Great Wall w/Ben Nerison-painted enclosure
LAL 46 Sooper Fuzz (modified FY-6)
EMMA Discumbobulator envelope filter
Mojo Hand Villanova optical Uni-Vibe
Fairfield Circuitry Randy's Revenge ring modulator
TC Electronic SCF chorus/flanger (used as flanger)(center left)

[cable from flanger to right top corner of board]

Boss CH-1 Super Chorus
Ibanez PM7 Phase Modulator (doesn't this sound like something Marvin the Martian would play through?)
Boss RV-3 reverb/delay
Fender MTG Tube Tremolo
Earthquaker Devices Ghost Echo v.1 reverb

i'm going to put a 1/4" right-angle adapter on the tremolo output so i can patch the stunt board in before the reverb, which defines and delineates the sonic space. the stunt board will contain signal-mangling equipment like a Fabrikat and a Bitquest. i'm going to use the old looper board as a front-end board for pedals that depend on a clean note to work properly like the Octave Multiplexer, the Attack Decay, and a Hotone Acoustic Simulator i have yet to obtain. i'll also use the TC Flashback or some other delay yet to be acquired...i've found that i quite like running a delayed signal into the fuzz and modulation.

i'll do a dead-simple looper board this time; i shouldn't need any more than 2 loopers, the Ernie Ball volume/pan pedal i use to cross-fade between the loopers, a ABY switch to sum the outputs to mono, and my little Solidgold FX buffer which is about the size of a short stick of butter. i might add one of the new Ditto+ units and use it to store pre-recorded loops i can play over a la Fripp with Eno, but they're tiny little things so it won't cause a space problem on its own, though it might require more room for a volume pedal or on/off switch since the pan pedal can only do A/B and i don't want the complexity of adding a small mixer to the setup. i guess an A/B/C switch would be necessary to sum the outputs. it's tempting to go to two Ditto+es, but i prefer the two-switch interface on the X2 because i can set the right-hand switch to STOP and have the left-hand switch dedicated to RECORD ON/RECORD OFF/UNDO LAST OVERDUB.

i'm very happy with the main board; i can do relatively normal stuff when appropriate and then dial in the batshit crazy with the Great Wall and LAL 46, the ring modulator, and the PM7. i particularly enjoy running Randy's mix at about 20-30% so you get a relatively clear note with a tail of weirdness behind. it's like angry shimmer, especially run into the Wall Of Plate Reverb setting on the RV-3.
