Postby zrobb3 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 9:01 pm

more specifically patch cables. i'm looking to rewire my pedalboard and want some opinions on cables/ plugs. this will be my first attempt at soldering cables, but i'm pretty sure i can pull it off

as far as plugs i'm looking at either chandler or GLS pancake style

wire? this i where i need some help-

any recommendations/ pros and cons would be much appreciated!

also, definitely looking to stay away from solderless. i swap out way too much for that

thanks! :hello:

I did a bunch of patches with Mammoth's pancakes and their Chandler "low capacitance" cable. I took a chance because there was a pretty good sale.

The pancakes are alright. The two solder tabs are helpful, though the holes could be bigger. Watch the heat when soldering because they're a bit fragile and I killed the odd one or two -- the non-conductive plastic melts and metal touches metal.

The low capacitance cable isn't particularly. Lower than Mogami and Canare, but just about anything is. Not horrible, though, and reasonably priced by the foot on sale.
