I'm of the opinion these days that it is more worth it to have patience and stop buy a whole bunch of cheap options and just have a long term option that I totally dig. If I could go back, I wouldn't have bought the keystep or microbrute (and a bunch of other things) and just saved for a few more months until I had enough for the futureretro.

The new futureretro drum module looks awesome.

I guess I'm saving up for the Futureretro

That thing is everything I want in a controller, so, I'm definitely gonna save for that one.

I would saw it kind of depends on the way you want to go....

If you want to integrate more with existing instruments, I would look at trigger/gate manipulation, logic, comparators, and preamps/mixers (along with more modulation).

If you want to stick to the subtractive side, more envelopes, LFOs, another filter possibly.

Drones, more LFOs and stuff to add movement.

I don't believe that the MS-20 has an osc out (don't remember fully), but if you can get the oscillators out for processing, a waveshaper would be good (there are a ton).

More VCAs are a must throughout though.

Sequencing isnt that important overall. A quantizer is a good call (I suggest Toppobrillo Quantimator for its shift register and chording neatness...and it is a quick arp). This would be pre english tear so that you can turn any voltage into a quantified pitch. the Korg SQ-1 kinda solves this though.

I think MN Function would be good because it can be a lot of things and will add a S&H/T&H. Microbe Meta Sequencer can be an unquantized sequencer, a stored random with slipping values, an stepped LFO, etc. RYO has some neat devices to look at that will add some versatility (they have a different take on something like the meta sequencer,,, just knobs and can jump to any value like a stored voltage source and the 2xVCX would add a ringmod/crossfader/two VCAs).

A lot of the DIY kits by companies like RYO are fairly easy.

I think Shades or AT-AT-AT could take care of atten, mixing, and inverting needs as alternatives to ST's suggestion of blinds.

I wouldn't worry too much about multiples if you have some stacked cables due to your voltage conversion at english tear.

I agree the verb is the least needed. I think you could find some better/smaller alternatives to the pitts delay....but it isn't that needed overall (4ms dual looping, chronoblob, etc).

Sounds to me like you want me to get a much bigger case

I'll look into all of you guys' suggestions. Thanks a bunch!

Nah, I love keeping it concise.

Just think with external verb and delay, the rack could be more versatile (or at least a smaller hp delay).

Meta sequencer is 6hp. Tried to keep all suggestions down below 8hp.

I appreciate that. I don't want external pedals. I want it all inside that single case. I have a very specific spot for the synth in mind, and that's (unfortunately) barely wide enough for the setup I have in mind as is. A smaller delay (and possibly verb) module I will gladly check out (I just liked the sound of the Pittsburgh one) if you guys have any suggestions! :joy:

I've never used them, but I have only heard good things about the Erica Pico DSP and it's older sibling the Black Hole DSP. Tons of effects in small hp

Yeah that pico seems like a great deal ! Pretty cheap and does a lot. Only minus is that it's one effect at a time

Hmmm...Been thinking.

Disting, dubjr, shades, rectifier or multiple,

Yea, I think you would enjoy the verb...Keep it. Dubjr will be enough delay (plus disting has it too

Edit accounting for the line level of the ms-20 (this one is better, more versatile, and badass anyway)

Alternative 3: befaco a*b+c instead of moddemix, then a different Pico module. Disting has delays too...Maybe that can let you get rid of the dubjr for something else 6hp.

Does anyone here use the Intellijel Rainmaker and/or uScale II? I'm looking into both to expand my current setup.

Also I figured I'd try: what sequencers do you guys think would compliment the Metropolis well? I have 2 Pressure Points + Brains but I'm using that more for modulating other modules, not necessarily sequencing their pitch (since it's not quantized).

I still have 22 HP in my current case setup but (un)fortunately 20 of that is going to a Morphogene, so I think I'm going to need to get another case to keep fueling my addiction.
I'm thinking about removing everything from my Make Noise Skiff and going for another 2 tiered solution, although at the rate I'm buying modules I might need to start looking at 3...

I had the uScale Ii but ditched it in favor of the Ornament + Crime, which is great at quantizing and also has other fun modes to play around with. Would love to try a Rainmaker...
