I just acquired another one for the same price I originally bought it for last year,
lesson learned.

I've sold mine few years back when I was using it for my synths. I bought another one couple months ago cos I missed the reverse mode a lot. I'd say, this is the only reverse mode in a delay pedal that really usable compared to other pedals which mostly are just for doing stupid & crazy shit. This pedal could be a great secret weapon for doing shoegaze stuffs

I've tried this on my RE-20, failed! It was just noisy crap I get. I'll try with the smmh tonight

I experimented with different in and out situations but didn't get to this yet.
I tend to get overly complicated first
x.x
but this looks cool, like running the FX loop back into itself on an amp to some degree?

What do you wanna know about it?
By the way I remember doing this to my moog LP years back (headphones out to external in) to get that dirtier sound, it was lovely

Running the SMMH back into itself is really good or unnoticeable, depending on the settings and what you have between the two times through. There's some possibility for very cool sounds there and I probably didn't exploit it as much as I could have while I had one.

Okay.. from a short demo I did few moments ago here's what I got. So normally, you'll get 50/50 at around noon on the mix knob, and the dry went lower as you turn up the mix knob. But in the looped signal mode (oh how I hate the mix level so much! I'd prefer fx level instead on delay pedals to preserve the dry signal), the balanced position is around 10 o'clock, and the wet signal is a lot louder as you turn up the mix knob compared to the regular mono i/o

So from what I gather, this method simply just amplifying your wet signal and exaggerates it.. as simple as that. But this could cause few other changes in sounds and move all other settings on the rest of the knobs and make things louder. So the verdict is, don't bother..

You still could get the same sound like in the youtube demo with regular method (but less peaky), cos basically it's the same thing. Try it yourself if you have chance, it might work for your application.

im always surprised when people talk about the smmh as being sterile. its just a really clean digital delay to my ears. when i use it for straight delay, ill usually go with the 300ms w/modulation to cop dmm toans.

what im usually doing is some wacky setting in the multitap modes and then looping craziness.

i was really uninterested in the smmh for the longest time, and someone offered me one in a trade and said why the hell not, and it has become an essential part of my rig. i use it for writing a lot. the on-the-fly looping is amazing. im planning on getting a dl4 for more complex or in depth looping, but the smmh is so great for dropping a loop in anytime.

love mine.

to me it's more of a tasteless, universal, character-less tone :idk: some people might dig it, people like Boss DDs etc

but to be honest, to me, there's no pedal that can do what SMMH can. Even if we talk just about the laser noises in the Modulated mode or the ambient reverb in the Reverse mode... so it has its place, but to me, it couldn't be my main delay

Yeah it does amazing things and the normal delay isn't bad, it's just a bit characterless. Tbh the only real deal breaker for me and the only reason I don't still have one is that the mix control is balls. I want CLEAN and EFFECT levels independently, how fucking hard is that EHX?
